"We had an excellent two week stay in this beautiful house, which is accessed down a 1.5km track, and is located in the grounds of the main property but remains secluded. The view from the terrace overlooking the valley is fabulous to wake up to or to watch the sunset behind the hills in the evening and we regularly saw wild boars grazing in the field below in the early evening. On the other side of the property you can see the nearby village of Civitella d’Agliano, which is a 2 km walk and is well worth a visit. The property has been converted to a high standard, is well equipped and very comfortable. The pool area was also excellent and well maintained. We felt entirely at home during our stay and Manuella and Martin could not have been more helpful with advice on restaurants and places to visit whilst not at all intruding. The area itself lies on the beautiful border of Lazio and Umbria with lots of hilltop towns and other places to visit. Orvieto is a 30 minute drive and we also had days out in Perugia and Spoletto as well as trips to closer locations like Lake Bolsena and the UNESCO listed Civita di Bagnoregio. The area itself is very rural and lacks the crowds we have encountered when staying further north into Umbria or Tuscany but a car is essential.We would thoroughly recommend La Casa Pastore at Carpinetta for those wanting a quiet escape. "

"There were 9 of us in all and the home worked out perfectly! The house is beautiful and lovingly maintained by Francesco. He is a fantastic host! The pool was delightful, we were able to share evenings in the courtyard or on the upper floor balcony. We could not be more grateful. The house if located just minutes outside of Orvieto. We drove to nearby Perugia, Todi, Bagnoregio, Marmora Falls, all great places to visit. One day we took the train to Florence and enjoyed the day. It is truly a magnificent property!"

"Third stay here and the place just gets better. Unlike other hotels that get tired and worn out - this one is always maintained very well and repairs that need doing are done - not left to get worse. Staff are brilliant and friendly. Restaurant and continental breakfast very good. Close to A1 so easy to get anywhere around. Pool and sun terrace are a big bonus and the pool is on site just a short walk from the main entrance not 1km away, like some hotels claiming they have pool access. All in all a great place for a relaxing break in Umbria and close enough to Rome for day trips. 1hr 10min drive to Rome or train from nearby station 40mins and very cheap. Highly recommended. "
