This was the second Thanksgiving we've spent at this beautiful lodge, and we hope to return! It comfortably sleeps our three families; and the great room, dining, and kitchen area are perfect for relaxing, playing games, and enjoying roaring fires.

A group of ten ladies spent three days here and loved it. The communal space was perfect for doing puzzles, hanging out together, and playing games. The home layout was really great for groups. Would definitely book this property again!

We had a wonderful 6 nights stay at the Black Bear Lodge with our family. The house is just beautiful and so cozy. It has absolutely everything you need for cooking in and enjoying a relaxing vacation. We all enjoyed feeding the squirrels and watching them at the feeders.The kids were in pure delight in their bunk room. It is awesome! Steve is a great host and quick to respond to questions. Everything about this home was wonderful! There was plenty of space for two families to spread out. The house was very comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. And you can’t beat the location! Overall, our stay was exceptional!

Excellent "Home", Great Location!

We've stayed in a lot of Vrbo houses, but this location truly felt like a "home". This is a gorgeous property, incredibly well equipped and it was beautifully decorated for the season. It is well located, just a short walk to the Glaze Meadow Pool and Recreation center. Definitely your best choice at Black Butte Ranch.

The best place in Black Butte!

We have stayed here before and every year we come back and remind ourselves why we stay here - its just the best. The location can't be beat, the house is beautiful, comfortable, and well stocked with everything you need. This house can sleep 6 adults comfortably and 6 kids in the most amazing bunk room you have ever seen.

Staying in this home was like living in a nature preserve. We spent much of the time when we were at home watching squirrels, chipmunks, birds, deer, wild turkeys, and rabbits visit the home. Great fun and a lovely experience.

A+ House

Our family had such a great time staying in this beautiful home. It was comfortable with lots of activities for all age groups. The home is gorgeous and spacious with areas to gather and also areas for quiet space. The kids loved the bunkroom and it was very nice that it had it's own separate bathroom! The guest amenities were well thought out and made the stay convenient and comfortable. We would love to visit again sometime!

Best week with family making such special memories!

We had such a beautiful stay at Steve’s wonderful house that truly felt like home. This house was stacked with everything you could possibly ever need. We had a large group and had so much space to relax, cook and enjoy family meals everyday. We are so grateful for this wonderful week that we shared together. Perfect holiday getaway

This place was perfect for our family of four plus uncle and grandparents to get together. Our kids loved walking just down the road to hit the water slide while the grandparents enjoyed relaxing by the fire. The kitchen came fully equipped to make any meal our chef uncle prepared and the hot tub was a great way to end the day. There were so many little touches to the house that made this experience so special for our family especially the 18 foot Christmas tree. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Best Family Home

Year after year, we love to stay at this home! It feels like a big lodge, yet very cozy. The home is well appointed with anything you could need. The kids love the bunk room, and it is a great layout for 2-3 families to spread out. The location is a short walk to swimming, playgrounds, and basketball. The owner is very responsive and in all our stays, we have had the best experience. Thanks for another great weekend!

The perfect house!!

The house was equipped with everything we could ever need in the kitchen which is so rare! Outside of that the house was just what we needed and more! Great Venue for Large Group

We had a group of 8 guys and needed to find a place that we could all sleep under one roof. We found this place and we hopeful that the bunk beds would work for us. Surprisingly the bunk beds were more comfortable that we expected, although we only stayed 2 nights. The home has a great fire place and the kitchen has a lot of cookware and utensils. Parking was easy for our 7 vehicles and the place was overall clean.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of space for 3 families totaling 11 people. The giant Christmas tree was beautiful! How did you get it I there!?The kitchen was well stocked, lots of extra spices and plenty of dishes. Every glass you could ever need!The bedrooms were perfect for our group, the bunk room was very cool. The kids (and grandma) loved it. It gets pretty chilly in the rooms upstairs but there are heaters in the closet if you need and lots of extra blankets. The hot tub was amazing! We made sure to use that daily! The kids and teens favorite pass time was to move the owl decoys that were stored in the bunkhouse around the house to scare everyone! (Don’t worry we put them all back!) Was quite the shock to go into the bathroom in the middle of the night and have an owl staring back at you! Haha! Overall we had an amazing time! Would love to come back again!! Thank you for letting us spend Christmas at your home away from home!

Amazing location

My new wife and I used this as a home base for our wedding at Black Butte Ranch in March. The size allowed us to entertain family and friends in the days leading up to and after the wedding. The garage provided safe storage for decorations and luggage, as folks flew in and out. Very cute décor, feeling very much like home. Perfect location near the Glaze Meadows Rec Center, and far away enough from the wedding action to have some privacy.

Fantastic Stay

I recently stayed at this rental and it was an exceptional experience. The property was beautifully maintained, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Excellent Spacious Home

Black Bear Lodge was an excellent choice for our group of 8, each requiring their own bed. Three bedrooms and a bunk room with 6 twins and a shared bathroom provided all the room we needed. The living area was spacious, with plenty of LR seating for our group to watch TV around the wood-burning fireplace. Kitchen was spacious and well-stocked. The outdoor hot tub offered a great view of the surrounding property and the daily visits by 10-12 deer, including 5 bucks. The owner was very easy to communicate with and very responsive. Would definitely be interested in a return stay with 2 or 3 other couples.

Best Ever

Been to Black Butte at least seven times, stayed elsewhere in VRBO properties over a dozen times. This is the best property we’ve ever had the privilege in which to stay. Beautiful home close to Glaze Meadow, our favorite area. Well equipped and excessively comfortable. Our 11 folks ranged in age from 3 to 74, and all were impressed. The wrap around deck gave privacy, sun, and shade throughout the day. The bunk room fit our ten through eighteen year olds marvelously. I would love to say bad things so folks would look elsewhere, but that not be fair or honest. Loved our time. Have signed up for a future stay. Nuff said.
