"We had a great week stay. House is clean, quiet and comfortable and has everything you need. Just bring groceries. Great view of lake. Really enjoyed the screen porch and the angler kayak a hit with my husband. Had one hiccup with a missing HDMI cable, that Andrea took care of right.away. Highly recommend"

"The house is spacious and clean, the ac is strong and we had everything we could possibly need in kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. Mitch was a fantastic host and very responsive. He was transparent about the lake being very low and the dock being out of the water. Looking forward to staying here again!"

"The experience was great overall! We couldn’t have asked for better hosts when it came to communication and accommodating our early check-in. They were very responsive and made the process very easy.My only concerns were the cleanliness of the home and the bathrooms. I would have liked to see the tubs and floors cleaned more thoroughly. We also noticed a few cobwebs throughout the house, including in some of the bedrooms, and dust on the dressers, which made me question how thoroughly the home is cleaned between guests.It also would have been more convenient if there were a bathroom in the basement near the 5th bedroom, especially for the guest staying in that room.Despite these concerns, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider rebooking in the future. With a little more attention to the cleaning details and an additional bathroom in the basement, this would be an even better experience!"

"This house was the perfect size and location for our short Labor Day weekend trip. We were two families (4 adults, 3 kids) and there was more than enough room for everyone. We also really enjoyed the location, directly on Lake Gaston and in reasonable proximity to parks and stores. We also liked the stocked kitchen, and everything was available and accessible to use the grill and the kayaks. Our only issues were with cleanliness and the stocking of the bathrooms and kitchen. The place was generally clean (linens, carpet, floors and furniture), but there is some bad staining in both the bathtubs. The bedroom with the bunk beds had the faint smell of cat urine, which was not pleasant. Meanwhile, the bathrooms could have been better stocked. There was only one roll of toilet paper in each and we had to go hunting throughout the house to find hand soap for the sinks. Meanwhile, the kitchen could have been better stocked for actual use — such as more trash bags, paper towels, aluminum foil and dish towels. There was no place to set dishes to dry, but also no towels to dry them. The sponges were also old (new sponges should always be available). Meanwhile, the lights on the dryer control panel don’t work so it’s a guessing game on what settings you’re using. Finally, the area around the kayak launch needs to cleaned up. Lots of trash In the water, esp. So generally, our stay was great overall. There were just some small details that could have been paid better attention to."

"Definitely not a Hilton or Marriott, but for the price it was a good place to sleep. Room was clean but smelled a little musty. AC worked, as did the TV. I didn't use the shower so I can't attest to the pressure. Bed was comfortable enough, it could honestly use a topper or something, but it was ok for one night. I would stay here again if I needed to on a road trip. They did have breakfast, but I didn't get up in time to grab any. Staff was very nice from the lady I spoke to on the phone to let them know I wouldn't be checking in until about 1am to the overnight clerk to the morning reception clerk."

"The house is gorgeous, spacious, well-kept. The lake view is good... lots of trees so, it is a bit obscured from the house but the shade is nice. The kitchen has all the cooking things you will need. Bedrooms are stocked well with blankets and pillows. Mattresses are soft. The bathrooms are clean, big, and perfect for showering adults: no tub for small children but that is specified in the description. We brought a portable for our grandson. Towels and wash rags were scarse. The entry way: steep steps, heavy storm door, and no landing to sit your luggage on so pack light! Overall, this is an awesome place! Beautiful!"
