For the last several years, Kevin’s home has been a place where my family celebrates Christmas and this year was just as special as the others. It’s so nice to have a home away from home to celebrate. It’s spacious, clean, has a well stocked kitchen, plenty of bedrooms for my extended family, and has plenty of things to do for the little kids. We also traveled with our little dog, and the well lit exterior made taking the dog out at night very easy. Kevin is also very responsive to my questions. The conveniences of the space have families in mind and are well thought out. Thanks again Kevin!

The property was perfect and as described. What an amazing experience it was for our Siberian husky Luna. Looking at or being near, the lake is very cathartic, and all that we had hoped for. Inside there’s not a single amenity missing or anything you could possibly need. The host was easy to communicate with very kind and open. Very easy to work with Kevin and I will be in touch with him soon to book my next vacation!!

On a 25 day driving trip from Missouri. This was a great location for a visit to Bethel and Woodstock. The home and amenities were great. Kevin was quick to respond to any questions. Our last night we were able to enjoy a great fire by the fire pit and enjoy our wine and some music. Highly recommend this getaway!

Extremely relaxing. The lake and the community was so quiet and peaceful. The house have everything you might need. There was 6 of us including a small child and there was plenty of room to have a space for yourself. We would definitely rent again. Wouldn’t even think twice about going with even more people.

The family group from the north met with the family group from the south there at the house and had a lovely stay together. The lower level of the house was perfect for the teenagers. We all enjoyed the homemade ice cream shop in town. And although some of us we're way too young to know what Woodstock was, they still enjoyed the visit there.

I stayed here with my family of 4 and another family of 4. Our group included a toddler and three 8 year olds. It was the perfect place for our stay. The house is on a quiet street looking over a pond. It was comfy and clean and cozy. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. And whenever I had a question, Kevin was highly responsive and helpful. Checking in and out was easy, and we would easily come back during any season.

Another fantastic stay at this fine lakehome. I stayed here with my family for the holidays. There's plenty of amenities in the kitchen, lots of space in the home and it has a wonderful & peaceful atmosphere. We've stayed at this home multiple times over the last 5 years and look forward to it every year for Christmas. Kevin is a tremendously gracious host, responsive, and offered us flexibility for our stay. We continue to look forward to making his home a part of our holiday tradition each year. Thank you Kevin!

This day was very nice. The house was perect for a family of 6 The area was beautiful. Plenty of space to sit together or spread out. Inside or outside. Very quiet location. Everything was clean and well stocked. The only thing to take note of is there is only air conditioning in one bedroom. The rest of the house does not have AC and we had to look for fans. The whole house exhaust fan worked okay to take the edge off. You also need to cross a very small country road to get to the lake. It is not attached to the actual property. Not much room for sitting there as a group. We had a wonderful day in spite of that. Thanks so much! We would return

My husband and I enjoyed our weekend at Kevin and Laura's home in Bethel, NY. The home is beautiful, clean, and charming. It sits directly across a small, private lake, and the view is wonderful. Kevin was wonderful and easy to work with as we made arrangements for our stay. He was also quick to respond whenever I emailed him with a question. Overall, we had a fantastic weekend, relaxing and spending time with our dog. It is always wonderful to find a lake house that is also pet friendly! I definitely recommend staying at this home. It is a perfect getaway spot.

10/10

This was the best stocked kitchen and vacation house I have ever stayed in. Kayaks for the lake were ready for us and we used them every day. We prepared our meals with no loss of utensils or cookery. The kitchen was large enough for several of us to be working at once and the dining area both inside and outside was just right for our group of six. The neighbors are all very friendly and everyone we passed on our walks around the lake were most friendly. Smiles and waves from everyone. There were cute docks to sit on and in some locations benches on boulders that made for wonderful meditation moments.

My friends and I stayed at Kevin and Laura's home in Bethel, NY and our stay could not have been better! We were a group of 9 friends gathering for a pre-Thanksgiving celebration. We cooked all weekend in the beautiful, open chef's kitchen with a great view of the lake and foliage. Kevin and Laura had all the amenities we needed-- from whisks, potato mashers and butcher knives to wine glasses and carafes! Kevin and Laura were so pleasant to work with and quick to respond to any questions about the house. We are hoping to make Kevin and Laura's house part of our new Friendsgiving tradition!

10/10

We had such a wonderful stay at Kevin's Bethel Lake House. The location is perfect. So quiet and peaceful. Just far enough to getaway from the busy city but close enough that it's such an easy drive. The house was everything we imagined and more. On the days getting caught in the rain there is plenty to do in the game room/ basement but the real gem is the lake across the road. Seeing all the deer was so much fun. Glad we opted to stay here rather than the busier area at White Lake, although it's close enough to enjoy the great restaurants over there. The only regret is not booking more days. Kevin was a great host and was easy to contact for any questions we had and for when I stupidly left the car lights on when loading and our battery died. Be forewarned cell service can be very shoddy in the house but we enjoyed being disconnected for the few days we were there. Looking forward to staying there again.

OMG! This house was exceptional. Everything anyone could want and more. The lake is literally across the street and the view from the deck is just beautiful. It rained one day and we spent the afternoon in the basement playing pool and foosball. Rode to Woodstock and did a little shop browsing and had dinner at one of the local restaurants. Walked along the wooded path in back of the house. So peaceful. And deer came into the yard on the morning we were going to leave! They also passed by on the road every day while we watched from the kitchen table. Oh! Almost forgot. The beds are soooooo comfortable. Slept like a baby. We are already making plans to come back!

Over the last several years, my friends and I have stayed in Smallwood and the surrounding area for an annual summer reunion. I can therefore say, without a doubt, that Kevin owns the nicest home in all of Smallwood. This palatial house in this serene hamlet of the Catskills boasts several spacious bedrooms, complete with luxuriously comfortable beds, a full kitchen equipped for preparing a bountiful feast, and entertainment to amuse people of all ages for days on end. Everything was as described, and Kevin made sure to attend to every single request and tend to every question we had. There was ample information provided on the town and the surrounding area which enabled us to have an excellent weekend. We had an excellent time at Kevin’s home and I will look no further when I seek a place for us to stay next summer.

Kevin was outstanding to work with, providing not only the details on how everything in the house worked, but literally PAGES of "things to do" in the quaint neighborhood around the home. The house and property itself are immaculately kept up with, and stocked with all the necessities for a week of off-the-grid living. The neighborhood is remarkably quiet, and buried deep in the woods of the Catskills, with a short drive to a few convenience stores, gas stations, and restaurants for the necessities -- and a reasonable drive from Walmart, casino, golf courses, Woodstock museum, and lots more for those who don't like to be "stuck in the house" all week. While the lake has a notable algae bloom that they're working on correcting, it's stocked with plenty of bait-sized fish to keep the hobby fisherman happy. My only suggestions for improvement at this home would be to move the WiFi router upstairs for better coverage in the yard and master bedroom; a detachable shower head in the upstairs bath since it's so low (my wife and I are 5'5" and 5'2" respectively, and had to crouch or kneel to wash our hair, but fortunately the downstairs bathroom is just fine); and a murphy bed or some other more comfortable sleeping option in the basement (the two adults sleeping down there said the bunk beds were not very comfortable). If these things aren't dealbreakers to you, run -- don't walk -- to this property for your getaway. It's an understatement to say you won't be disappointed!

We rented Kevin's house for three weekends this summer. We started off rocky, but I chalked it up to a busy summer season. Kevin received my deposit via check, but then requested a paypal because he said he didn't get the check. So, I obliged, trusting all of the positive reviews here and that he did good business. However, both cashed the same day. He was not in touch with his business partner, who had gotten - and cashed - the check. When we arrived to the property, the house is well set up. However, it was all show. Everywhere we turned, there were issues. A broken screen door, a bad toaster, lights out on the patio, tv remotes that don't properly work, broken kayak seat, no bbq brush, mini-shower upstairs and worst off, uncomfortable beds. DESPITE all of this, we loved the location and we wanted to be good guests. We left a note when we left the first time detailing some of these things. By our third visit has become unacceptable business practices. First of all, the fridge could not handle food for three days. We had told him this on our last visit and were told that he used it successfully and it would work fine. There was a significant amount of good meats, dairy and expensive foods for our long weekend, which we were excited about. Kevin sent his housekeeper over to diagnose the situation and she just told us to call Kevin. We had to buy a cooler and ice for our Labor Day food. 24 hours later, Kevin sent a friend over to assess the situation. By the time he had come, our food cold by cooler. By day 3 it did get up to speed, but by then, we had to spend significant time managing the situation on our own because Kevin and his team kept saying the fridge was working. Now, we just got our deposit back with a note that we are being charged extra for cleaning. When we asked Kevin, he told us it was because we used all the towels and all the beds and the pots had to be scrubbed. We already paid his listed fee and now extra loads of laundry and elbow grease costs us more? Terrible at managing issues and keeping the house updated. Oh, and we never had working lights on the patio. One of us almost fell down the dangerous stairs in front. This house looks good, but if you actually need anything, Kevin is unhelpful and uncooperative. We are professionals with the utmost courtesy to Kevin's home and once Kevin got our money, he treated us like strangers. I really don't like writing reviews like this, but I feel its necessary. Bad energy.

Decided on this location as there were no nice hotels near our jobsite. Really enjoyed the privacy and being surrounded by nature. Had two deer visit us during our stay. Beds are super comfortable.
