"We were a group of adults/teens and children visiting Birmingham for a Thai boxing tournament. The house is very clean and spacious, and really nice and warm considering it is single glazing. The only thing I would suggest is a bigger microwave, as the mini microwave only holds small saucers, so for our large group heating up dinner took twice as long- a minor detail. Otherwise we were very happy and comfortable with the stay and would absolutely stay here again if we come to the tournament next...

"Comfy beds and linen. property a little run down staff were very friendly and helpful with exception of receptionist that forgot to tell us we had dinner and how to redeem at restaurant. food good quality particularly the olives and nibbles great value. Breakfast coffee machine didn’t dispense correctly and bacon was cold on hot counter. great selection for breakfast."

"Everything about the hotel was perfect, and I will definitely consider Holiday Inn Express in the future as a priority. The hotel was spotless and the room was everything that you would want it to be. I particularly loved the blackout curtains, comfortable bed, pillows, and spacious bathroom. It was very quiet and I slept very well. Reception were really helpful and interested in whether you were having a good stay Breakfast was great and the woman who were attending the tables and the food was really nice and keen to make sure you were enjoying your breakfast."

"Our room was just great. Plenty big enough for an 8 day stay. Everything worked and the TV was fine. The bed was comfy, the shower was hot and powerful enough, despite a few stray shoots of water from the rear where it was not best coupled. The bathroom showed some signs of tiredness. There were signs of water damage and the mirror though good enough, had edges showing de-silvering. The reception staff and management were so helpful and friendly. We were really impressed by the attidude show and felt well looked after. The position of the hotel in Shirley is excellent. The Saracens Head pub in front is handy and very good likewise. Overall, we felt the hotel was excellent value for money and gave us a brilliant stay. Highly recommended!"
