"My husband and I stayed at the grotto bay resort for 12 days . We stayed on the third floor and had an ocean view with a balcony
The view was amazing. The room was clean and I found it up to date.
The pros are that you have a private lagoon to your self with beach umbrella and lounge chairs. It’s easy to put the chairs in the water for a nice treat while soaking up the sun. The sun is intense so bring plenty of sun block, they also provide float devices for free
To access the beach and pool you will need to walk down several platforms of stairs
I have bad knees but found this tolerable . If you stay to your right there is a walk way to bypass several stairs.
We did not have the all inclusive as we like to venture out for most of our meals
We did eat a few buffet breakfast for 30 ea and dinners and found it to be good.
The drinks are heavily watered down I would not waste the $$$ on mix drinks in the restaurant or bar area.
We did do the evening bbq buffet for 80 each and found that over priced for the quality of food. I think the motto is quantity not quality.
There is a bus stop right outside the resort which makes it easy to take you any where on the island. We did take taxi most of the time which can be more expensive but we are seniors and we like convenience. Do not except the hotel to help with getting you a taxi they want you to use the hinge app which was difficult due to there WiFi. Overall the stay was very good and would recommend staying here."
"With oceanfront rooms and large suite that feels more like your own private villa, this was the perfect spot for our family of four. The property is stunning with beach access and four outdoor pools. Shout out to the incredibly nice and responsive staff as well as the team at the SURF restaurant (on site) that served up some incredible meals and drinks."
"An incredible Bermuda getaway!
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Cambridge Beaches. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The food throughout the resort was excellent, and the amenities were fabulous.
One of our favorite things about Cambridge Beaches was simply being able to explore the beautiful grounds. There are so many little beaches, coves, paths, and places to discover that the resort itself feels like an experience. We especially loved spending time on the floating sun island—it was such a unique and relaxing way to enjoy the water.
The combination of beautiful surroundings, excellent food, wonderful amenities, and genuinely friendly staff made our stay very special. My wife and I truly enjoyed our time here and would absolutely return to Cambridge Beaches. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable Bermuda vacation."
Waterfront 2 Bedroom Cottage, Access to Private Beach
10/10 Excellent
"Very cute 2 Bed cottage overlooking the water with dedicated dock. Small private beach which we used daily literally across the road. Christine made sure we had all the details before arrival about the property, directions, public transit, taxis etc, as well as links to pre-order groceries and essentials from the local supermarket prior to arrival. Christine also picked up the order the morning of our arrival....thank you!We were greeted in person on arrival, given a quick guided tour and any questions were quickly answered in person or by text. Our stay was short, but everything was excellent and we will certainly be back!"
"Staff were wonderful, accommodating and helpful. We had an ocean view room, so the balcony was a definite, plus. The Bar was convenient. Menu was decent Bar appetizers. Good drinks. We ate at the restaurant one night. The food was delicious but extremely pricey two entrées and appetizer to split, a beer and a Diet Coke came to $150. The beach is absolutely beautiful, but the water is rough on that side of the island. The rooms had the amenities that you need but no extras like a microwave or a pamphlet that tells you like what’s in the area or is there laundry services etc. They definitely need an upgrade to the rooms as they were basic but acceptable. One big negative was the shower door lets all the water onto the floor. It would’ve been nice to have a screen on the sliding door so that I could keep the door open to hear the tree frogs in the ocean. Cleanliness was ok. It wasn’t spotless but for what we paid and where it was it was ok. Because we were just there in August the air conditioner we ran 24/7 and it kept the room icy cold. The Coco Reef is very conveniently located to the bus stop although you do have to walk down a big hill. There is also a grocery store that is like one block away. This has been our 4th trip to Bermuda in the last two years we have stayed at two other hotels that were more expensive. Cocoa Reefs is definitely affordable for families. There were a lot of young kids there. The pool was very nice and refreshing."
"Another wonderful stay at the Coach House at Tween Walls. Laura and Elizabeth are outstanding hosts with 5-star communication. All the nitty-gritty was smooth and easy. As for the property - it is perfect (for us). My family of 4 stayed 5 nights. I love rentals that actually have some of the basics stocked - soaps, sun screen, condiments and all the spices you need. The little beach is a gem - not powder white sand (that's a 5 minute walk) but a secluded little spot to snorkel, fish and take a dip. Great location. Comfortable inside and out. Just a 12 minute walk to the market for anything you need. Thank you ladies. We hope to return soon."
Private and Dreamy.....Balcony, Wine, Sunset, Upstairs with its own entrance!
10/10 Excellent
"All amenities were excellent. Very clean, full kitchen, air conditioning, balcony etc. Bonus room was the small sitting room with a large window facing the water. Great spot to enjoy your morning coffee and end the evening with a drink . We spent quite a bit of time just sitting and enjoying the view. Great location bus stop right outside the door. Jody is an excellent host - personable, easygoing and always greets you with a smile. - available to answer any questions and recommend where to go. We will definitely be back. "
