We stayed in Hotel Villa Maria in Sorrento for 9 nights. The hotel is located in very close proximity to all the restaurants and shops, very walkable and very safe area to stay in. It’s right at the beginning of Corso Italia the main street all the way to Piazza Tasso. We enjoyed having breakfast in the hotel every morning which was very convenient. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful with accommodations, and giving us information about the places we wanted to go, bus stations, the nearest beach which was 15 minutes walk from the hotel, ferries, train station. Our room had ocean view and every morning we absolutely enjoyed looking at Mount Vesuvius and the ocean from our balcony. The room was outdated but in Italy that’s how the rooms are. Overall we truly enjoyed our stay in Hotel Villa Maria and Sorrento. I highly recommend this hotel for those who want to visit Sorrento. Everyday we picked another city to visit: Pompeii with train, Capri and Anacapri with ferry, Positano with ferry, Amali/Ravello by bus. The hotel has a pool and bar/restaurant that you can order drinks or dine in addition to the main restaurant for breakfast which was included in our hotel booking and dinner which you will need to pay. We also had room service every day.

Loved this hotel!

Our stay at this hotel was amazing! The staff was hard-working and was always there to answer our questions. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is the place. Spent a few days at the pool and enjoyed the bar and food there! I would definitely return on my next Sorrento trip…👍

Front desk Francisco ioly Spanish girl everyone was nice Except at check out I checked out my bill one day before and paid on the original check out day we where in a hurry and got told off call thief lady Anna kept saying Mr Mr u haven’t paid and double charged me and I ask for respect but she kept screaming Mr u need to pay we wife showed her all the credit card charges and they even try to charge me a extra $10.00 drink so sad I got embarrassed very bad and screaming was not wright Anna must be talked to thought she was nice bad

Hotel was in a great location, close to the main street of shops, bars and restaurants. Ten minute walk to the train station to travel to Pompeii and Vesuvious. Rooms are dated, but adequate. The pool area was excellent, very clean with lots of longers and a good bar. Seven minute walk to the Ferry Terminal to travel to Capri ans surrounding islands.

The room given to me was noisy next to the street and the pool and bathroom.AC in the room extremely cold and the remote wasn't working until one of the staff came and reset it. Still it was too cold. I was told to turn off the vent which I did and it got hot. I did mention about the room next to pool bathroom but was told if I don't like I can change. But room change time next day was too late and the day after we were too busy to pack and again and move. So had to stay and deal with this.(didn't get good sleep on the nights stayed)Except for the room, Everything else was good. I would book here again and not economy room and def not this room.

Although staff are friendly, this is not a 4 star hotel and the description on Expedia is totally misleading! There is no sea view unless perhaps from the 5th floor; bathrooms need serious renovating - shower doors don't open and close easily, never thoroughly cleaned; no air con (when I was there), and the gym is nothing but 4 pieces of rusty abandoned crap in an unused basement restaurant... the list can go on and on...

We did not want the room cleaned first two days of our stay but asked for towels from the housekeeper. The second day I forgot to ask for a bathroom floor towel asked one of the housekeepers and she took it from the other housekeeper. I heard a loud yelling coming from the hallway. Few minutes later the hotel reception called me to say don’t take any towels from the cart. I said I didn’t take it the housekeeper gave it to me. Then I explained that we did not want our room cleaned just wanted the towels. Receptionist understood but left a bad taste in my mind because I believe the housekeeper racially profiled us.

The pool and continental breakfast is what sold me on this property. The kids loved it! The heated pool was nicely sized and there were always lounge chairs available. The beds were comfortable so we got a good night sleep. The windows were great at blocking out most of the noise from commuter cars and bikes. We did have a few of the sea. The room came with a small safe for vaulables and refrigerator. The refrigerator was mainly filled with hotel beverages for a cost and restocked daily. The staff was efficient at the main front desk, in the restaurant, and at the pool bar. The property could use some modern improvements in the condition of the room/ presentation. The bed covers look like they are from the 90’s and had a fool scent. The additional bedding comforter provided in the linen closet had multiple stains. The light switch plates were falling off the wall, and the shower head holder in the bathroom was broken. Hotel Villa Maria overall is a nice place to stay and within a few steps of downtown Sorrento. I would recommend this property.

We booked an economy double room. Unfortunately, no exact size information was given on the website. The pictures made the room look much larger, so we were disappointed by the actual size. For two people, the space was very limited, there was only a single-door wardrobe, although the photos showed a two-door one. Overall, it was hardly possible to move around in the room with two people. The photos definitely gave a different impression. In our opinion, the room is highly overpriced for what it offers. The room was located on the 4th floor under the roof, with sloping ceilings and oval windows that you could not look out of. In addition, the elevator only went up to the 3rd floor. On the positive side, we would like to mention the very good location, the cleanliness of the hotel, and the friendly staff. Everything else was fine – only the size and furnishings of the room did not meet our expectations.

The restaurant and pool bar staff were friendly. The breakfast was delicious. The staff in the lobby answered all of our questions. The location was great and within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the beach. The view from our balcony was beautiful. The air conditioning in our room worked. Room was just a little on the small side but since we only slept there and sat on the balcony in the evenings it was manageable.

Excelente ubicacion. Buen servicio. Cuarto espacioso y comodo. No me agrado que te cobraran el estacionamiento (30Euro la noche) y mas porque hay lugar afuera pero los empleados del hotel toman las posiciones disponibles.
