"On arrival we were welcomed by the very friendly receptionist. Even though we were early, the room was ready and welcoming. The hotel is old and full of character but tastefully decorated, giving an airy feeling. It appears to have been recently refurbished to a good standard. The bed was very comfortable and the large bathroom had a really good over bath shower! Breakfast was very pleasing! Staff were friendly and attentive, providing everything we needed. The food was fresh and beautifully cooked, locally sourced. Nothing was too much trouble. The only disappointment was not having a garden as advertised, but this was explained. We had a very pleasant few days."

"Always a comfortable stay and views across the golf course are scenic. For us visiting families , it's an ideal position. The bar is quite boisterous at times with large groups of golfers meeting up before and after tournaments, but of course it is a busy golf centre. The facilities at the health spa are excellent swimming pools and changing facilities are spacious."

"Always an excellent nights sleep for a young family. It’s clean, well maintained (including air con), has welcoming helpful staff (all areas), ample parking, local shops & such quiet sound proofed rooms (even with the 1980s rave the floor below). My child slept & wasn’t woken up by daylight, noise, the stifling heat or worries about cleanliness. Plus they could have a bath. Win."

"Stayed in a Deluxe Double Sea View room. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with beautiful views across the bay, which was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The room also had a standing fan, which made it a little more comfortable. The staff were polite, friendly, and helpful throughout our visit, making us feel welcome from check-in to check-out. However, I was very disappointed to find that the outdoor swimming pool was out of order. This was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel, and if this had been clearly advertised on the website before booking, I would have chosen to stay elsewhere. I feel guests should be informed in advance when major facilities are unavailable. The spa facilities were good and provided a nice place to relax, although it didn't make up for the disappointment of not being able to use the outdoor pool. Some areas of the hotel are looking quite dated and could benefit from refurbishment. While the building has plenty of character, updating certain parts would really enhance the overall guest experience. Parking is available on site, but is chargeable, which is something to be aware of when booking. It would have been nice if this was included in the room rate. We didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on the food. Overall, we enjoyed our stay thanks to the lovely room, stunning sea views, spa facilities, and the friendly staff. However, the lack of notice about the outdoor pool and additional parking charges was disappointing"

"Nice modern, quirky hotel in great location for City Centre, Hoe and Barbican. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bar area, that is also for check-in, has some really good seating areas for work or chilling. Room was great - very clean, comfy bed and good shower. On-site parking was easy, although it is £10 a day. It was a perfect stay for our needs."
