The Rio Grande runs right across the street from this two-bedroom home in South Fork, where you'll be able to spend your days fishing for abundant brown and rainbow trout. On this quiet, dead-end, dirt road, there are no buildings to block your view of the river, so you can wake up and go to sleep with the water in sight. Whether you're traveling to South Fork to ride ATVs, explore Rio Grande National Forest, or ski the fresh powder at Wolf Creek Ski Area (21 miles southwest), this house makes a wonderful home base. Enjoy a beautifully updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances and an island that provides space for both prepping and dining, comfortable living room furniture placed in front of a flatscreen TV, large windows that let in plenty of natural light, and free WiFi. At night, take your pick of two comfortable bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and one with a double bed.

Great house, exceeded expectations
Great little house directly across from the river. Very quiet and the home is wonderfully appointed with a killer kitchen, stove, refrigerator and living room. Our only complaint is the beds are just doubles, not queens, so if you’re used to something bigger you gonna fit pretty tight.

Alpine and Nordic skiing with a stop at Pagosa Springs for some swimming
Great stay, property was very clean and the kitchen is awesome! It was -5* when we arriving late in the evening so it took a while to warm the place up but it was comfortable once it warmed up.

Great house just needs a little A/C
Great house with great location right across from the river, drive from house to town or trails on UTV. Only complaint is being from Texas there were no A/C in house. They recommended leaving all blinds closed and windows during the day but that didn't really work. We used plenty of fans. Amazing kitchen and island area.

South Fork House as advertised
The property is as advertised. Kitchen had amazing high end appliances. Bedrooms clean and nice. A bit lacking on extra bedding for futon, but we made do. Bathrooms clean, big, and nice. Easy access to all the good hiking in the area. House right off the highway next to river. Worked for 3 friends for a quick weekend getaway to enjoy a few hikes and good conversations. Check in and out was easy and good communication with property manager.

Nice retreat by the Rio Grande
We had a lovely stay at this home on the Rio Grande riverfront. The river can be seen right through two huge windows at front of house. We saw many mergansers cruising up and down the river right from the living room. Kitchen is large with very nice high end appliances -- crock pot was nice touch. Bedrooms are a bit small, but living room is huge and comfortable. WiFi worked well... heat works well, but just don't try to use both space heaters at the same time (blows the fuse). Stand up shower head might need some serious CLR (showerhead sprays water in weird directions). Linens (sheets and towels) were all high quality. Washer/dryer is awesome large capacity, but a bit scary-noisy because of its power. BIRDERS: Loved birdwatching along the road/riverfront (Canada geese, bald eagle, red-winged blackbirds, white breasted nuthatches, common mergansers, magpies, sparrows, American dippers, dark eyed juncos all just along our walk down the dirt road of the neighborhood.) Quite peaceful. We also had a chance to check out Monte Vista NWR (about 30-40 minute drive) for sandhill cranes too. Imagine it is a great place to fly fish in warmer weather. A few minutes drive to small town of South Fork. Convenient to Wolf Creek Ski Area (about 30 min drive.)
