"I was there on 7/29-7/30. I did call the morning of to confirm my room with a dog, as I had booked it online a week earlier. They said I was all set to go.
I arrived roughly 9 pm the night of check-in, and a room was not blocked off for us. Luckily, the gentleman with a ponytail at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating and ended up letting us use a room that was not specific to dogs after his manager had Ok'd it. He was very thoughtful and explained where everything was in the hotel, as well as breakfast times."
"Clean, quiet, comfortable. Three nitpicks kept it from a full 5 stars:
1. Biggest problem is that the place is hard to find the first time, if you're not sharp-eyed. Once you know where to turn, you're OK.
2. My room didn't have a microwave, but it wasn't worth rasing a fuss over.
3. The place's cable TV didn't carry Detroit Tigers baseball. Workaround - listened to the game via satellite radio app on my phone"
Dog friendly cozy red cottage near lakes and trails
10/10 Excellent
"My boyfriend and I were so pleased to be able to be able to get away to this dog- friendly lakehouse/ cabin retreat. The checkin process was incredibly smooth and hassle free. The kitchen was supplied with all the cookware we needed and the sheets on the bed were the smoothest I ever slept in! Not to mention the backyard... the beautiful lights and furnishings elevated the campfire experience. The host was quick to respond and very kind. Close to Wilson State Park so we could spend the day at the lake, yet the evenings were incredibly peaceful once we returned. We would definitely choose to stay here again."
"We had a great time. Cabin was right on the lake with a nice small "Beach" area set up and maintained to enjoy. Especially liked the small stream running though the property, and the Sasquatch trail for extra features. It was very hot (in the 90s) while we were there and the window AC unit mostly did the job with just a couple of too warm spots inside. The water is on a shallow well which is typical in the area for cabin but it did have a strong swampy smell so bring your own drinking water for coffee, brushing teeth, etc. We found the cabin very comfortable in general with lots of space outside. We were not a fan of the memory foam mattress topper due to lack of support and heat retention, but everyone has their own preferences, We were able to tolerate it and have slept on worse. We would come back again."
Lovely lakefront log cabin on Eight Point Lake. Relax or have fun in the lake!
10/10 Excellent
"Another great year at Eight Point Lake. The cottage is spacious, clean, and has plenty of room for our family to spread out. The view of the lake is beautiful from both the inside and outside on the deck. The swimming area is wonderful. It is shallow and great for small children. The host lives next door to the property which makes communication a breeze. We have already booked our next stay and look forward to returning in 2027!"
Lakefront, Indoor Heated Pool, Sandy Beach+Dock+Kayak, Gameroom+Firepit
10/10 Excellent
"My family and I loved our time at Black Bear, and we hated to leave! The lake was warm. The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. The pool was wonderful and larger than I expected. We had everything we needed and more. Even the neighbors were friendly. Connie responded quickly to any questions we had. The surprise gift delivery was such a nice touch. We had a little issue with the spa, and Connie was quick to make things right. Thank you so much Connie!"
