Tucked away in a quiet section of Tahoe, guests of this classic home will be able to enjoy close proximity to local restaurants and activities while still taking in the area's natural beauty. Grill up delicious meals on the spacious back deck while the kids run around the enclosed backyard. It'll be easy to go from outdoors cooking to indoors prep, with the conveniently located full kitchen right by the deck entrance. The entire home is ground level, so no one will have to struggle with stairs inside. If you're visiting during the colder seasons, feel free to light up a fire in the wood-burning fireplace and enjoy a board game in the richly furnished sunken living room. The room-darkening shades will ensure that everyone gets enough rest for the next day's adventures.

Things to Know
Tahoe is home to many animals. You may experience bears, raccoons, mice, and other animals. Meadows are home to many rodents. When these areas are filled with water or snow, these animals move to homes in the area. You may experience these animals in or near your home.
Streaming services are available with guest accounts.
Lake Tahoe is a mountain town, and the internet signal is different than in big cities. When there are not a lot of people in town, the internet is high-speed. As the town fills up and people stream, the internet will ebb and flow.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Security camera details: One surveillance camera views the driveway, and a second camera is positioned at the front door. A third camera views the backyard, but it is off when guests stay at this home.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. Tahoe Mountain home

This home is located in a quiet neighborhood, close to some trails, bike paths, and a short drive to restaurants and stores. It has a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. It was a nice spot for our family and a good home base for all kinds of Tahoe adventures.

South Lake Tahoe getaway

We appreciated the layout of the house and the amenities it had to offer. The house was centrally located to the things and places we enjoy. We took advantage of walking through the nearby meadow in the mornings. A couple of things to work on would be to fix the screen door that leads to the backyard (kept falling off track) and the vertical blinds( only 5 work). Also the outdoor furniture is not sturdy and BBQ pit did not ignite and no lighter available. Would have liked to hangout doors more if it was possible. We will definitely book this listing again in the future. Thank you.

Would’ve been 5 stars except…

the hot water heater was broken when we arrived. No one was able to come fix it the night we arrived. The property management repair tech came to try and fix it the next day but the pilot light/flame kept getting extinguished, so we were left another night without hot water. It wasn’t until the third day they sent a plumbing specialist out to take a look and he replaced the 25 year old water heater altogether. Other than that, the place was good for our family of 4 adults, 2 kids, and dog. Location was close enough to all the winter activities we had planned (skiing, tubing, etc..) and neighborhood was quiet.

Cannot Recommend

Our last VRBO review was Five Stars. What a disappointment this rental was. Kitchen very poorly supplied, although glasses for every kind of alcohol. Coffee pot couldn't make much other than warm brown water even with special dark roast Sumatra grounds. Dangerous drop down into front room in three places, only one of which was adequately marked. Beds on one bedroom only inches off the floor and no closet in that bedroom. Same room no bed lamp. Slippery floors a hazard for walking. Light switches in odd places, not easily accessed, e.g., hall light switch in the middle of the hall. If using the toilet in the second bathroom best not be claustrophobic. All in all, would not rent again and can't recommend a stay here. Two restaurants on Emerald Bay Blvd. for dining are Sonny's BBQ and Margarita's for delicious Mexican food and drinks with great service. .

Clean and Nice

The place is well furnished with pots, pans, utensils and even a log for the fireplace. Nice big fenced-in backyard. The house was very clean. The main downside for us was the lack of cable or satellite TV since our stay was around Thanksgiving and viewing the traditional NFL football and also the World Cup that happened to be going on at the time was a challenge at first. The property is equipped with three Roku TVs with a ton of free channels which is great, but of course local sports channels are only available by streaming subscription. Trial subscriptions are available but for some reason we had big problems canceling a trial subscription after our stay. Every time we would turn the TV on to the streaming service we added to watch a football or soccer game we would get a streaming error but we figured out how to get around it. Also we didn’t see a container for recycling so we had to take them with us when we departed. Overall, though the place is really nice and beautiful, check-in was easy and clearly explained and I would stay there again. In the mountains not all properties have cable/satellite and I imagine bears may be attracted to recycling wastes.

An overall miss

I will say that this property from pictures was a good find. Generally it is represented in the photos. However it’s more about what else is/isn’t there that made this rental a miss. One, the neighbors across the street has at least 8 vehicles that are parked in the street on a rotating basis. It can make it difficult to back out of the driveway. The backyard is rough. My older kids utilized a hammock we bought but otherwise could not “play” in the yard. The grill had no tools/utensils so grilling was difficult. There were a lot of other things regarding the property that were a miss: Not enough hangers No dresser in master 2 towels per person per stay No extra beach towels, did include 2 chairs No spices or extras for cooking No storage containers for left overs Tv in living room says “overheated” frequently Only one working remote Does get hot at night. Two box fans provided but loud No fitted sheet on master and only heavy down comforters. No laundry items provided The floors are very creaky and loud Not enough toilet paper/paper towels/dishwasher tabs The stove fan cannot accommodate anything that has a remote amount of “smoke” The garage is a small one car unit. Could not fit an SUV or Truck. Also, the ability to extend your rental to a late check out disappears so if you want it’s do it right away. The communication with the renters, which is a company, was poor and frustrating. There are a lot of rentals in Tahoe for similar prices.

Sweet Tahoe retreat

This was our 2nd time staying there. We appreciated the upgraded easy to clean floors. The new sliding door and curtains were easy to operate and provided great sense of privacy. We enjoyed sitting out on the new patio furniture. This home is cozy, has nice basic amenities and is within a walking distance to a beautiful meadow. It is also conveniently located to shops and restaurants. Definitely recommended staying here.

It’s okay…

When we got to the cabin I noticed right away that there was a little bit of a funny smell. When I turned on the heat that smell got stronger. Whatever the smell was gave me a horrible headache, my eyes were burning and I just didn’t feel right when I was there. Aside from all that I was shocked that it really wasn’t that clean; I found a few dishes that were dirty and put away, hair all in the drain, ash in the fire place and what I assume was marker all over the sheets in the master bedroom. The home was also lacking a few things that would have been nice to have like a spatula, salt and pepper, a mixer…just basic stuff…no extra blankets and the tv in the bedroom didn’t work. Sadly I couldn’t breath there, there were no Christmas decorations (I take a week trip every December to Tahoe and every house we’ve stayed at has had everything we needed and a Christmas tree). The deck was COVERED in snow and ice so it made taking my dog out difficult…seems like they should have had someone come clean off the deck prior to our arrival. It was nice having a washer and dryer and the backyard was nice and big which we loved…I just wish that of the home was going to be dirty that they wouldn’t do things like charge for cleaning…kinda a bummer to go on vacation and have to clean and shovel snow.

Clean & Beautiful!

While this home is about 15 minutes away from the downtown area of South Lake Tahoe, it's beautiful, clean and cozy. Great for a couple with dogs, and/or two kids. Beds are very comfortable, backyard is big, and had everything we needed. The only thing we did not see was pepper and salt which isn't a big deal!

Great home for the whole family!

The home was spotless! Super clean, had everything you need for cooking, very cozy, had TVs in the living and bedrooms that you could easily access your own streaming accounts from, 2 car parking and a huge complete fenced in backyard with deck, pet friendly (even had dog bowls and a bed/pad for doggie!). Great stay overall! Staff were super helpful and checked in via text after arrival to see if we needed anything. Vacasa also has a 24/7 line if needed for any reason. Checkout was a breeze. Had a great time and would gladly return!
