"Great place to stay right at the end of the bus route that crosses the islands. Really good restaurant (especially for fish lovers!), super friendly and helpful staff, convenient for the Pentland Ferry - what’s not to like !"

"Great little place, in a great little village. Easy access to the Orkneys. Robertson's Pub is a local place with good food an atmosphere, just around the corner."

"The staff were very friendly and the room sizes were great. Breakfast was very nice. The only downside was the car park is not very large so I had to park on the street, but was not the biggest issue. Was overall a good experience"

"Very well centered for all the sites on the west side of Orkney and a quick drive to Kirkwall and the eastern archipelago sites. Staff was fantastic and a store featuring lots of local artisans is within walking distance. Not many dinner restaurants nearby, but a grocery store across the street had plenty of options for my needs."

"Nice location with view of harbor and access to ferry, staff polite.
Poor communication and unwillingness to compromise on accidental double booking."

"We were very pleasantly surprised to learn our 1 room family suite had 2 separate bedrooms. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was nice.
Only issues were that we only had 1 key which made it tricky every time we went separate places. Also there was an illuminated exit sign in the king bedroom we had to cover up it was so bright, and when others shut their doors it would thump ours. Loved the skylights, was a bit stuffy but those helped. Loved the breakfast!"

"Perfect place to stay in the quiet and laid back village of Dounby as it is close to a lot of archeological sites which are about 10 to 20 minutes away in every direction. Very friendly and attentive staff. Great food as well. Spacious parking in the back. There is a gas station and a market across the street so you don’t have to worry about driving too far to refuel and get food. This place will be my go-to the next time I travel to Orkney Islands!"
"We loved the tour of the facility and our room. Help with parking was so useful for ease of getting out of the lot. My wife needed medicine kept cold and ice packs frozen and had no issues having this done for us. Because we were leaving before breakfast a to go meal was provided for us."
"Nice location in the town center. Parking available front and rear. Big clean bright rooms with great bed n and pillows and huge bathroom. Breakfast is very good, nice helpful staff and amazing choice of local drinks in the bar."
"Exceptional property exquisitely decorated end maintained: we felt like we were staying in a grand country house. We were made to felt very welcome and we felt very comfortable. Breakfast was a real treat and the cooked breakfast was absolutely delicious.

I’m sure we’ll be back"
"Comfy clean room although a little small. Breakfast and dinner very good. free wifi and parking were very useful. EV charger in the car park came in handy"
"The hotel has clearly just been refurbished and the entrance area was very nice indeed. I was later checking in and had to wait a wee bit until helped by a member of staff - wasn’t a huge issue for me though.
The room itself was lovely - spotless and stylish. Didn’t have breakfast as I was leaving early."
