"We had a lovely one night stay. We were warmly greeted and our room was spacious, up quite a few stairs so beware if you have heavy cases. We enjoyed a swim in the pool and used the hot tub. A well equipped gym was also available. The pool was very clean and a pleasant temperature. These facilities were all included in the room price but there is a limited timetable when you can use the pool due to lesson and member sessions. We ate dinner at the hotel which was very tasty and well presented. Prices were average for the places we stayed this year. There was a good menu choice including specials. Before dinner we sat out in the terrace deck enjoying the beautiful views and peace. It was also entertaining to watch the car park comings and goings of children arriving for swimming lessons. This does mean parking could be difficult if guests arrive at the same time lessons are happening. Breakfast was delicious, ordering your hot meal choice the day before. Cereal and toast were also available. We slept well, although the bed was firmer than I am used to. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked well. I would recommend this hotel to others and would stay here again. "

"Amazing place I was really impressed with the quality of the room and the food. To be fair I was not expecting such a quality stay for the price as I used both Travelodge and premier inn most weeks and and they charge far more for less quality"

"The new owners are certainly making their mark on this property with lots of work going on (did not affect the stay at all). We were in a newly refurbished room which was spacious and beautifully decorated. Will certainly be going back, excellent location, great food and hosts. "

"Its not the most salibrious hotel on the planet but it is punching way above its weight in terms of friendliness, service, and the breakfast was really well delivered. Possibly the best cup of coffee I've had in scotland outside a major city!"

"We attended a wedding at Friars Carse over 20 years ago and as it was a convenient stop on our way to the highlands, thought we would try it again. I was afraid it may not have aged well but it is actually even better than I remembered. It is a beautiful place to stay, housekeeping is excellent, staff are helpful and discreetly friendly and it is just so relaxing. We stayed in Redwood which I believe is the honeymoon suite and nothing could be more idyllic. Very much looking forward to future visits. Thank you. "

"Fantastic staff, excellent breakfast, super parking, very clean modern room, free WiFi, Netflix and prime TV, good bed, in room tea & coffee with biscuits, to take good to great would be the addition of a blackout blind to the room window & a shelf / surface in the ensuite to put toiletries on."
