Wonderful peacefull location

We spent 3 weeks at Alice's place, and there is nothing to say other than "thank you". It is a wonderful, comfortable, peaceful place. All you need for a relaxing holiday is there, in a lovely atmosphere. If we may suggest, test the fresh baguettes from Sommieres City Center Boulanger. Every day a wood fired oven produce the most tasty bread you may imagine. all the best Alice

Great Week in Wonderful, Quiet Vacation Home

When we first walked through the heavy, iron door and looked in on the courtyard, we know we made a good choice. This large, modern home in the midst of vineyards and olive trees provides an interesting balance of old and new. Old in the sense that the structure is 200+ years old and served a different purpose years ago (as you can see in the feeding trough cleverly incorporated inside) to the modern kitchen and great WiFi. The house is about a six minute drive to Calvissson and is in the small village of St. Etienne d'Escatte. Sommiers is about 12 minutes, Nimes 25 and Arles/Avignon 50. It is very, very quite and the stars at night are clear as ever. We enjoyed the large courtyard for having a class of wine, small treats and the BBQ. Inside on the first floor is a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, large sitting room. Upstairs the bedrooms and baths. It is clean and comfortable. Alice met us on our arrival and gave the tour. She and her associates are available at any time should there be a problem, but there were none at all during the entire stay. That said, we were very impressed with her concern about our happiness and having a great stay. Before renting a new place one always tends to look for the downside. There really isn't any here. IF there were to be one, I would not recommend this home if you are looking for nightlife and a bistro across the street. If you want quiet, a peaceful walk or run through vineyards, privacy and just to be left alone, this should be on your list.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Alice und Pascha, dem netten Hauskater begrüsst. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig, liebevoll eingerichtet und bietet für 9 Personen ausreichend Platz. Die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Nous avons été très chaleureusement salués par Alice et le gentil chat de la maison. La maison est spacieuse, aménagée avec soin et offre suffisamment de place pour 2 familles (9 personnes). Il manque rien dans la cuisine. Nous nous sommes sentis très à l‘aise.

Excellent séjour de fin d'année

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour à 4 couples dans la maison d'Alice pour nous retrouver pour les derniers jours de l année. Le gite se prête bien pour ce type de rencontre: une grande salle de séjour et cuisine-salle à manger très bien équipée. Nous avons été très bien reçus avec une bonne bouteille de champagne et nous avons apprécié la gentillesse de notre hôte. La maison a beaucoup de caractère et correspond à la description faite sur le site. Nous recommandons vivement cette adresse.

Entspannung pur

Wir waren 3 Wochen im wunderschönen Anwesen von Alice. Alice war eine überaus freundliche, sehr sympathische, hilfsbereite und dabei unaufdringliche Gastgeberin. Das Anwesen ist ein Traum, riesig, sauber und mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Unsere sechzehnjährige Tochter war begeistert von ihrem "Wohnturm" in dem sie allein wohnen konnte. Das kleine Appartement ist sehr hübsch, modern und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. In der großen Küche im Haupthaus fehlt es an nichts, sie ist urgemütlich, mit dem alten Steinbogen und dem Pferdetrog . Es ist toll, dass man überall im Haus noch sehen kann, was es einmal war. Der Innenhof ist wunderschön begrünt. Zusammen mit den gelben Steinen der Bruchsteinmauer ergab sich ein harmonisches Gesamtbild. Wir konnten stundenlang sitzen, lesen und genießen( hierfür hätten wir uns zwei bequemere Liegestühle gewünscht :-) . Wir haben viele Ausflüge in die nähere und weitere Umgebung gemacht. Die Strände sind in ca. 45 Minuten zu erreichen und auch in die wunderschönen Cevennen ist es nicht viel weiter. Nîmes liegt quasi um die Ecke und auch Arles und Avignon sind für Tagesausflüge gut zu erreichen. Leider haben wir es nicht mehr nach Marseille geschafft(uns war es in diesem Sommer einfach zu heiß). Meistens waren wir, wegen der großen Hitze, bis zum Nachmittag im Haus, bzw Innenhof. Da wir uns rundum wohl gefühlt haben, haben wir auch nichts vermisst. Es war sehr erholsam. Vielen Dank nochmal Alice, es war uns eine Freude bei Ihnen zu sein. Vielleicht sehen wir uns weiteres Mal. :-) (Und Grüße an Pascha, den Hauskater) Herzlichst Sabine&Florian

Acceuil très chaleureux d'Alice, qui nous a ouvert les portes de cette magnifique maison en pierre, rénovée avec tellement d'amour ! Encore mieux que sur les photos, des pièces spacieuses et agréables, tout l'équipement qu'il faut, confortable, l'extérieur beau, calme, avec ces murs en pierre tout autour, cet espace, le jardin...un beau séjour, un voyage dans le temps, un lieu plein d'amour et de sérénité ! Nous avons été accueillis par la voisine , madame Arbousset, très gentille dame. Elle nous a fait découvrir la maison et ses installations. Très grande et très confortable pour nous 7. Les enfants ont apprécié le jardin et Pacha le chat. Il ne manque rien côté cuisine. Nous avons aimé prendre nos repas sur la terrasse. Idéal pour visiter les alentours. Aiguës mortes, Nîmes et autres. Je recommande cette maison à tous.

Maison de charme, spacieuse et bien située, propriétaire agréable et disponible

Avons passé un séjour très agréable en famille composée d'adultes. La maison est très confortable, surtout par les températures en cours (juillet 2018), la fraicheur intérieure de la maison était super ! Cuisine très bien équipée en appareil électroménager. Les chambres sont spacieuses avec une literie confortable. Jolie vaisselle locale, plaisante à utiliser au quotidien! Alice est disponible et toujours prête à répondre au plus vite à nos demandes et/ou remarques. Promenades en vélo à partir de la maison super chouettes permettant de découvrir un paysage gardois des plus beaux. La boucle des Olivettes, celle du Vidourle sont à faire en partant tôt le matin pour profiter de la lumière superbe et des températures acceptables. Nous recommandons également la sortie matinale (départ 7h30) proposée par la Maison du Grand site de France à Aigues mortes, permet de mieux appréhender les paysage de la petite camargue et de découvrir la faune de ce site, le tout se finit par un petit déjeuner très convivial. Le tout petit bémol : dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de boulangerie dans le hameau de St Etienne d' Escattes. Attention aussi à l'escalier à l'intérieur de la maison avec de jeunes enfants, pas de rembarde et marches étroites dans le virage. C'est une adresse à recommander les yeux fermés!!
