Spacious, luxurious house with a lot of natural wood

The house Kaldbakur is situated on the Nollur farm and offers privacy as well as perfect panoramic views. Only first-class natural materials have been used for this spacious house. The 60 m2 living room and kitchen offers an unrestricted view of the fjord. The 6 m2 hot tub is situated under the roof and allows relaxing and enjoying the fantastic views. The designer bathroom has a large shower (4 m2) as well as a tumble dryer and a washing machine. The first bedroom has four beds (1 bunk bed, 1 sleeping sofa), the second bedroom a fantastic king-size bed made of nutwood. All rooms have a view to the fjord.

wonderful modern 2BR house with the most amazing views of Eyjafjörður. hot tub delightful to use (but definitely remember it takes the full 2.5 hours to fill). easy to find and very quiet and tranquil

The place was great. Very spacious with all the amenities you need. We loved the view from the living room! The communication with the owners was top notch. They respond quickly and provide detailed directions, instructions and recommendations!

Simply perfect

My wife an I had an absolutely lovely stay. The house is beautiful, and the location is just amazing. We enjoyed the view over the fjord from the hot pot, and watching the Northern Lights right out of the bedroom. Just a short drive from Akureyri but a perfect little secluded hideaway with all the conveniences of home.

Lovely home!

We loved the location of the home, not too far from town but far enough to be peaceful. Views were amazing and house was very comfortable. It does not have a freezer so this is just something to plan for.

Absolutely spectacular stay on Eyjafjörður!

Stunning property, amazing views! Spotted whales from the hot pot!Top-notch rental with everything considered.-Pre-arrival communication was very thorough, and we received it from Thomas, the host, very early.-Thoroughly enjoyed making some local cuisine while listening to music on the hifi sound system.-Kitchen was fully equipped, though is lacking a freezer. -Bathroom, shower, and laundry were stellar.-Hot pot does take a while to fill, but we were able to work around it. I do wish it were a touch hotter, though, as it’s fixed at 100 F. It was still glorious to enjoy a private soak overlooking the fjord, though!We were completely blown away by this property and this location! We look forward to staying again when we visit Iceland in the future. We hope to return and climb Kaldbakur, the mountain for which this unit is named, which is just a few kilometers down the road.

Everyday, a different view

About 20 minutes from Akureyri, the view alone is reason to stay here. Quiet, inside and out. You can hear the birds and the water. Concrete walls help keep the inside quiet as well. Cool roof with grasses growing. There are stairs to get to the living level. Note they require a non-electric car so do not expect to plug one in.Easy to get to many local tourist areas for day trips such as: horsebackriding(10 min), Husavik (whale watching, Geoseas), Myvatn(Godafoss waterfall, and spa--but we recommend Geosea geothermal bath instead), hiking the Kaldbakur mountain.Inside, the home is appointed well, note there is not a freezer for when you get groceries. Washer and dryer is lovely; shower is spacious. Hot tub takes a while to fill, so plan in advance. Hosts sent PDF with everything we needed, checking in and out was a breeze.

Fantastic stay!

This property and the farm at Nollur are great choices for a few nights or a few weeks in North Iceland. The property has every convenience you need and is very comfortable. The owner and his staff are friendly and quick to respond to any questions or requests. Details matter and this property will not disappoint!! The location is perfect for day trips or just relaxing and enjoying the view from your windows. The hotpot overlooks the gorgeous fjord and is welcome after a long day of hiking or sightseeing. This was our third stay here and I can’t wait to book the next visit.

The BEST ever!

The overall impression is excellent. The quiet and the peace - non plus ultra. It's a true oasis. We definitely yearn to come back one day - maybe in a different season. This is our 4th time in Iceland and the stay in Nollur was amongst the best. WE LOVE ICELAND - Thank you Thomas Susanna and Rolf

Wie immer hatten wir eine hervorragende Zeit in Nollur. Das Haus ist fantastisch und sehr gut ausgestattet. This was our second stay at Kaldbakur. We love the location and the view! And we especially appreciate the design elements of this house. Mr Sietz is a fabulous architect/designer! We cooked all of our dinners at the house. The kitchen is sufficiently supplied but you need to bring all food items except for salt/pepper. The bed is very comfortable and the hot pot a real treat! We hope to come back again.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus ist wunderschön. Der Backofen war schmutzig. Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter war freundlich und unkompliziert. Unser Backofenproblem wurde schnell gelöst!Einziger Nachteil des Hauses ist ein sehr durchgelegenes Schlafsofa! Wir würden trotzdem immerwieder buchen!
