Allegheny inn worked perfectly for our 1 night stay. We usually book way ahead, but this stop was kind of last minute & it worked fine. I’d stay here again if in the area.

Filthy, stained, unwashed bedspread, ants and other bugs in the bathroom area, stained carpet, cigarette burns on the so-called nightstand, smelly, pillows, filty air conditioning unit. I had to find a store to purchase roach and ant spray, lysol, microban spray, bed linings, a bedspread and pillows. The bathroom sink facet was damaged and hard to cut on and off. At least it was quiet, centrally located to a location I needed to be at and had an amazing restaurant at the corner of the parking lot.

While an older property, it is very well maintained, is very clean, and has an attentive staff. The night porter had fresh coffee in the office at 5:00 a.m. both mornings I was there (And yes, I was up at 5:00, to run a trail race nearby) Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and helpful. In a small town not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway, there aren't a lot of choices, but this is an excellent value.
