Long weekend getaway with our family and this property was amazing. Absolutely stunning and better than we expected. The house had everything we needed and the outdoor areas were absolutely amazing. We did a little hiking down by the Pedernales, watched the stunning sunrise from the back porch, fed the chickens and collected the eggs. It was an unforgettable weekend and Wendy was so great. Thank you for sharing your little piece of Heaven with us!

Stone Home Ranch was the perfect weekend getaway. Our family made many great memories at this beautiful hill country home. The home has plenty of room for everyone and lots of space to hang out alone or with family. The views are totally breathtaking and the beautiful landscaping around the home was amazing. The kitchen is well equipped and there was plenty of space to eat together inside or out. Wendy was very helpful and quickly responded to all questions making our stay the best. We loved this vacation property so much that we will definitely be back. Thanks Wendy for being an awesome host!!

What a cool unique property! The house is perfect for a big group. It seems far out, but pretty easy to get to bee cave and surrounding places, 10/10 would do again.

I had my parents in from NM for their wedding anniversary along w/ my sister and brother in law. What a great time we had at Stone Home Ranch! My parents are still talking about it. The home is extremely well furnished, not like typical vacation rental, and very remote/serene.

I hosted my friends and family here for a going away party. The property was truly a magical space for us and my guests were absolutely stunned with the sheer beauty of the land, wild flowers, and the home. I could not recommend this property enough! A big thank you to Wendy for all of her time in helping me make this happen.

The property is amazing! The beauty and comfort it added to our very special event made our time even more spectacular! The photos our photographer got were stunning! The host, Wendy, was beyond helpful and a joy to work with. I would recommend this property to anyone that wants to take in the Hill Country beauty and forget about all of your worries. I would love to spend more time here just taking it all in.

After going through two lock gates we find a beautiful home tucked away from loads of people. The house was immaculate. It had a quaint trough for a pool which was large enough for six adults and four kids. Tight but fun for visiting and drinking. It was a little hike to the creek below and it was low. However. That did not stop us from kayaking and having fun. The evenings on the back porch was a perfect place to view the hills and the sunset. It was a winner in our book.

My family had an excellent time relaxing at this fabulous home and exploring the local area. Our children (ages 18, 17, 15, 9 and 6) all enjoyed lounging around the house watchin movies, exploring the river, looking at the amazing stars and, of course, feeding Pepe, Lefty and Poncho! We went ziplining, hung out a day at Krause springs and visited enchanted rock state park during our stay, all of which were tremendous fun. My 18 year old son and I saw a local blues legend, WC Clark, at Poodies, which was the highlight of his trip. I cannot say enough on how much we enjoyed this wonderful home and the local area.

Family of four (5 & 7) stayed for a couple days during spring break. The house is pretty darn awesome.. and that’s the “worst” part. What an awesome property. The views are amazing, the river (albeit low) was awesome for hiking, fishing, wadding and relaxing. We spent the vast majority of time outside and even the chickens provided the kids with some entertainment, including gathering eggs. Wendy was awesome, we’ll be back.

The house is beautiful and there is lots of room outdoors. We would love to come back someday when the weather is better. We had a lot of rain during our stay. We still took the time to go down to the river and enjoyed a fire at night. We also had a visit with the donkeys and the horse. Willie the caretaker was very friendly and we all had a long chat.I would also like to visit after the wildflowers bloom. I would definitely recommend this place and would come again.

Our long weekend at Stone Home Ranch could not have been better. As we drove through the gate we were immediately struck by the beauty of the property and it only got better as we got our first glimpse of the house. It is a beautiful stone home, build entirely from stones gathered and uncut from the area. Dylan met us and gave us the tour of the home and grounds and was gracious and helpful in every way. We didn't want to leave the property because it is so gorgeous so we had Kathleen at the Tomato Happy Hour market cater and deliver our delicious evening meals. She uses all fresh ingredients and was super accommodating in every way. We loved sitting on the patio, in the chairs on the river bank and walking the road viewing wildlife! This was a place for beauty, contemplation, laughter and prayer for our group of ladies and we can't wait to go back. We returned home refreshed and grateful for a wonderful weekend together. Thank you Wendy for sharing your home with us and for being so great to work with.

Our stay was superb. The home, the decor and its furnishings were beyond our expectations. It suited all 11 of us to a tee! The spacious setting, the seclusion and the amenities made it like a home away from home. The grounds were beautifully kept (during a drought, no less) and the view was spectacular. Our mornings and evenings on the patio made for a perfect start and ending to our days. Our play time in the river was enjoyed by all and the kayaks added to the fun. Our barbque's set the tone for great evenings of family and food. The neighboring restaurant (J5 Steakhouse) treated us kindly and served up some great food. I highly recommend a stay for anyone seeking a remote place to visit and a way to remove yourself from the big city hustle. We hope to visit again during the cooler months just to build an outdoor fire. Many thanks to Willie (ranch foreman) for his assistance when we needed it and to Wendy. Wendy, thanks...you made the experience easy. Sincere thanks from Valdez and Devlin families.

We had a wonderful time at Stone Home Ranch following camp pickup for our daughters. The house has great amenities and Willy the ranch hand is very helpful. The house is perfect for folks who want to get away from it all and are happy staying put and enjoying the views, which are spectacular. The area is very peaceful! Unfortunately, we were with kids who wanted to do water-related things so we found ourselves driving distances every day. Anywhere your kids would want to go (Lake LBJ, Barton Springs, Hamilton Pool, etc.) takes about 30 mins - 1 hour each way. We were pleasantly surprised that there was some water in the river behind the house, but it's not much. Also, going down to the river is a commitment -- about 100 very steep stairs. It's not something you want young children or elderly doing unsupervised, if at all. Hopefully, the water levels will come back soon making the trek worth it.

Pure relaxation! From enjoying the outstanding scenic views from the beautiful patios to cruising the river in the kayaks, Stone Home Ranch is simply a perfect setting to get away from it all and unwind. SHR is a gorgeous property and, as one of the other reviewers noted, the pictures really don’t do the home justice. The house is spacious, clean, well maintained and has all the amenities. The views, especially from the second floor patio, are awesome and the evenings are quiet and peaceful. There aren’t many other houses nearby to be making a lot of noise. With the current drought, there wasn’t a lot of water flowing in the river. But, the section flowing by SHR is relatively deep and had plenty of water for playing around with the kayaks. Finally, it was pleasure dealing with Wendy. Easy to contact and very prompt with responses. I would have no hesitation recommending SHR to a friend! I hope to get back someday as I forgot my fishing pole on this stay.

I live in NYC, and needless to say, it is very important to get away from the rapid pace of this city. And trust me, I have heard (and looked into) so many of the gimmicky vacation stays. But I went to Stone Home Ranch, and literally was hooked. And have been back many times since. The architecture is incredible. All the stone and detail work is something you really don't find often. Though it is a large home (can easily fit like 10 people!), it is very cozy. Definitely a home away from home. Great master bathroom amenities. And a gorgeous dining room/outside patio area. Perhaps my favorite thing about it is the view. It has an absolutely stunning view. Right when I look out, you are just begged to go down and get in one of the kayaks to explore the terrain. Cliffs, water, views, horses...there really isn't anything else you could want. It is also close to Austin, in case you want to go sightseeing in that unique city. Or go to hear some of its music. Whether you want a tranquil romantic getaway... or you have family where everyone wants to do something different....Stone Home Ranch is my choice. Truly beautiful.

10/10

My family and I have just spent a weekend at this beautiful home. This home and property are obviously cared for with loving hands. Our trip included myself, my husband, our son and his wife, and my mother. Each and every one of us absolutely loved this home. The pictures do not do this place justice. The house is stunning, and the property is equally majestic. This was the first "road trip" that our family has taken together that allowed us to bring our beloved dogs. Having my fur babies along made this short weekend trip all the more enjoyable with no worrying about them at home. Just a few hours away from our home, we were transported to a peaceful, secluded and wonderful country experience. "Country Manor" is an appropriate description because the house and grounds are grand. The river is down several flights of stairs accessible in the backyard. Once down on the river bank, we had private access with a swing and picnic table on the waters edge. It was picturesque. Wendy was more than helpful with any questions that we had. But, actually, every amenity that we needed was thoughtfully in place. I wholeheartedly recommend this home.

What a fantastic trip we had to Stone Home Ranch! Our multi generational group had a ball! From Willy's friendly greeting and helpful manner to the many "nooks" in which to get away and relax, our stay at this comfortable home was very enjoyable. The home has a true "away from it all" feel. the views of the river and canyon are beautiful. our family loved kayaking and swimming (it was so nice to have 2 kayaks and floats at the property for us to use). we all loved sitting and visiting on the lower level patio and on the upper balcony off of the library. perfect for soaking in the beautiful scenery - the stars really are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas!! The home is very well furnished, the kitchen well stocked with any dishes, utensils and glassware you may need. the artwork is unique and beautiful. the property is well maintained and fun to explore. a couple of things to note: the property is fairly remote. I looked, but must've missed directions to the house. google maps does not help. we did end up finding and not getting lost, but took a fair amount of time to map out directions for ourselves. our group was not bothered by this, but it would've been nice to know in advance - there is a large resident pet lizard who lives in a clear tank on the upper level. our kids had fun observing and reading about him. the hike down (and back up) is quite steep, but as the description states, worth the effort. those with very young kids or older folks with health issues may want to enjoy the river from above. thank you very much for a fabulous place to have our family vacation! we had everything we needed and more!
