"If you are looking for a nice modern hotel with a number of standard amenities… this ain’t it. If you need the basics; a bed, a bathroom, a shower, very close to the train station, then the Grand Hotel serves those requirements. While the decor, carpeting, etc. has seen many years of service, overall the place was clean and tidy. Manage your own expectations appropriately and you’ll have no issues. "

"This unstaffed after 8:00 pm and only through an email did I get a check on pin to enter the building. Would have been nice to know earlier. After entrance everything was wonderful "

"Great location in Frederikstad city center. Very helpful and gracious staff. Room was spacious and quiet. Breakfast buffet was great! Lots of variety and choices. Around the corner from the buss station if you need to catch a flight from Oslo airport. Very convenient. Enjoyed our one night stay. Highly recommended."

"Overall, the property is fantastic. It is about 10 minutes walk from the station, 2-3 minutes walk from the river and all the restaurants. The room was super nice, clean and descent sized. The only thing that left a bit if bitter taste in our mouths was they made us pay for the coffee in the lounge and they wanted to charge us per hour for late checkout. Nothing too bad. But felt like nickeling and diming. We enjoyed our stay immensity."
