Let me start by saying, that we were to stay at Grand Mumtaz and for some reason we booked Grand Mumta... at first we were a bit skeptical, but as it was already booked we continued with our stay. This was good hotel for the Price. The positives. Good Central Location Close to Dal Lake Big Rooms Big Bathrooms. The Negatives Staff was slow in the restaurant Some Rooms had a very heavy smoke smell. Bed was hard and not the most comfortable Having said all that, the thing that made the stay exceptional was the Front office and Relationship Manager, they went out of the way to make things right. They were very helpful.

Anyone going to Srinagar & feel the pinch staying at the Taj or the Lalit, i would really recommend this place. Ok, there is no view of the lake but you're a stones throw away. Its neat, clean, has very decent service (except the front desk) & is absolute value for money
