Swilken View, 5 Star Selfcatering House Overlooking the Old Course in St Andrews

The accommodation comprises of an entrance vestibule leading through to the utility/laundry room with storage for golf clubs and other equipment. This leads into the main hallway where information leaflets are displayed and a telephone is situated. Off the hallway,there are three well appointed twin bedded rooms, one with an en-suite shower room and the other two bedrooms sharing a shower room. There is an attractive mural of Scotland's most famous poet Robert Burns painted onto the wall half way up the stairs leading to the upstairs lounge/dining room, kitchen and en-suite bedroom.

UPSTAIRS
Lounge / Dining Room
Superb lounge with panoramic views of the Old Course and patio doors to the viewing veranda. This room has very comfortable seating arrangements, a reproduction oak centre table, television and video. The spacious dining area off the lounge has two windows to the north overlooking the Old Course. The dining table, ten chairs, dresser and serving table are made from reproduction oak and are complemented with crystal chandeliers in both areas of the room. Ideal for eating in if guests wish to relax in the comfortable surroundings. The room is accessed from the top landing and has a connecting door through to the kitchen.

Fully fitted modern antique pine kitchen with fridge, electric hob, extractor, double oven, dishwasher and microwave oven. Doulton crockery for 12 place settings and crystal glasses.

Utility Room - With washing machine and freezer.

Storage Room
Large cupboard for storing golf clubs, outdoors shoes, etc.

Swilken View has 4 twin bedded rooms, all individually styled but all sharing the highest quality standards. The highest quality pure cotton bed linen and luxurious towels are provided for the comfort of our guests. There is ample storage space throughout all of the bedrooms for your clothing and accessories.

The Master Bedroom enjoys spectacular views over St Andrews Old Course. It has a beautiful en-suite shower room. This twin bedded room consists of a double wardrobe, bedside cabinets, dressing table, chairs, and occasional tables with ornate lamps, and wall mounted 32" tv.

Fabulous golfing nest

Swilken View is a truly fabulous place to stay when visiting St Andrews. If you are a golfer, the location can hardly be bettered, overlooking the Old Course and as the name implies, the centuries old Swilken Bridge. The house is spacious and comfortable and exactly as described in the web pages. We all loved it.

It looked to good to be true, but it wasn't!

Wow! What a fabulous home, location, view - the total experience was everything we hoped it would be and more. If you ever need a place in Scotland to base your buddies golf trip, look no further than Swilken View. The owner was engaged with us the entire time, begining 2 years ago when we made the reservations. AMAZING!

BEST option for golfers!

Swilken View is the ideal property for a group on a golf holiday in Fife. To wake up every morning looking out over The Old Course is just incredible! There is no better location in St Andrews - walking distance to most everything. It appears the kitchen was recently remodeled with great appliances. While it could sleep 8, the 4 bedrooms allowed our foursome each a private room. The laundry room came in handy for mid-week washing. This place was so great that i would plan our next trip around Swilken View availability.

Spectacular location overlooking the Old Course

We had a wonderful week at Swilken View! While we were only two, there's easy room for 8 people in the condo. There are four bedrooms, each with two twin beds, and three bathrooms. Two of the bathrooms have very nice showers, while the third is a shower/tub combo. Three of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, and one is on the upper (main) floor with the kitchen, dining room and lounge. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking (we only cooked breakfast), and there's a large dining table. There's also a washer and dryer, which we took advantage of. And then, there's the view. From the big windows in the lounge, you look out over arguably the most famous golf course in the world, with views of the 17th (the Road Hole), the 18th with the famous bridge, as well as the first hole and second tee. You can see across the golf course out to the North Sea. When we weren't on the course, we were watching others play, and pose for pictures on the Swilken Bridge. The location is easy walking distance to prime locations like Dunvegan's and the Old Course Hotel and Jigger Inn. It's a 10-15 minute walk to Market Street and the main shopping and dining areas. There's room for one car to be parked off the street, although be prepared for some tight turn-around space. The owners were great to work with, and if we ever have the chance to go back to St Andrews, we will stay at Swilken View.

Golfing Break in St Andrews

A fabulous property to stay in overlooking the 17th green and the Swilkin Bridge of the Old Course. Accommodates 4 golfers with ease. Accommodation will easily accommodate 8 although all won't get to watch the tv at the same time (The Masters is on and as we are golfers we were glued!) Wants for absolutely nothing and wouldn't hesitate to book again!

Swilken View St Andrews

Fifth stay at the 3 & 4 bedroom properties for our group of golfers. Both houses always excellently presented and maintained, great location for for the town, beaches and of course golf. Owner Kerr and staff look after us, ensuring through our stay all is well, nothing is ever too much trouble. Already looking forward to next year.

What a perfect home base for a week in St Andrews. Kerr and Suzanne were an absolute pleasure to work with. Easy to communicate with for the entire time leading up to our trip, as well as personally greeting us when we arrived. The unit worked out perfectly for us. The unit had all the amenities we could have wanted. Kitchen was very well stocked and appointed. Bedrooms and bathrooms the same. Large dining room and sitting room. Majestic view of the Old Course and St Andrews Links. We hope to be back.

This has to be the best place to stay in St. Andrews, especially if you are a golfer. We had 4 couples come from NY for a week. Couldn’t dream of anything better. The place was outstanding in every way. Waking up to the view is a hard thing to leave and come home. The house has everything you could ever want. I will recommend this to every golfer I know. And hopefully will be back soon.

Golf lovers dream house

Spectacular location for a golf trip. We had 8 guys and had plenty of room with a terrific kitchen. You will never get tired of looking out the window to the 17th green of the Old Course and the Swilken Bridge.
