Charming 3/2 Cottage- Close to beach & Historic Downtown

Cottage on May – Newly listed!

Enjoy this historic 1935 home which has been recently renovated with brand new amenities.

Location – Location – Location. The Cottage on May is only 1.6 miles from Vilano Beach, a favorite spot for the locals. The Fountain of Youth and Old Jail are only a five-minute walk. Take a romantic stroll down the picturesque Magnolia Avenue, one of the most photographed streets in the USA. Historic downtown, St. George Street and the Castillo de San Marcos fort are a short 20-minute walk, only one mile. Restaurants, Antique Shops and many Boutiques are within walking distance. Don’t feel like walking? There are a couple of bicycles in the shed that you are welcome to use. Also available are beach chairs, beach umbrella and boogie boards.

This home is a three-bedroom split plan, allowing the adults a bit of privacy from other guests. The master bedroom has its own bath with shower. The guest bedrooms share another bath which has a tub. All bedrooms have Smart TV’s with complimentary Comcast programming. The home also has high speed internet with Wi-Fi throughout. Home has Central A/C and all bedrooms have ceiling fans.

The kitchen has been updated with new appliances, cabinetry and quartz countertops. The focal point of our kitchen is the original brick chimney once used for a wood burning stove. Neatly stowed away you will find all the necessary gadgets to accommodate your stay. Adjacent to the kitchen is the Mud Room, complete with large Washer, Dryer, sitting area and farm sink to rinse the sand off after a relaxing day at the beach.

The Living Room is a wonderful place to relax, complete with reading nook, fireplace and television. The gorgeous original wood floors add to the historic charm. Off the Living Room is a cozy Sunroom complete with seating area and writing desk. Looking out the front window, you will see the historic “Pink Castle” home which is a historic St. Augustine landmark.

What we love most about our home is the outdoor areas. The home is completely nestled beneath a canopy of stately oak trees which are draped with Spanish Moss. An outdoor dining area is set up under a beautiful pergola with string lights that set the mood. Enjoy some S’mores at the firepit chiminea. A new Weber gas grill is also available. The yard is plenty large enough for the young ones to play.

No issues with parking at this home. There are three spaces in the front driveway and two more in the rear driveway off San Carlos Avenue.

For your safety, the home has passed the fire department safety inspection. It is complete with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguisher, egress diagrams and emergency lighting.

Sweet little cottage in a beautiful neighborhood

We could not have been happier with The Cottage on May. It is so charming and well appointed. The beds are very comfortable as well as good towels. We appreciated the welcome gift of wine and snacks after a long day of travel. Location, location location. What a beautiful neighborhood!

Perfect Cottage

Loved this cottage. Had plenty of room for our family and was close to historic downtown. Excellent location. Host responded to questions immediately. Highly recommend if you want to be within walking distance to downtown but out of noise and congestion.

Quaint and charming cottage!

Well appointed property, meticulous attention to detail. Cozy, comfortable and appealing. Convenient to several local attractions and a nice walk to historic downtown. Outside table, grill and fire pit underneath huge old oaks were a bonus!

Beautiful holiday vacation

It was a real treat stain at the cottage on May. The house is very quaint and a real throwback to a different era. The property was spacious and the yard was fairly well maintained. A big plus for us were two bicycles that were available in the Back shed. We would definitely recommend this property.

Charming cottage and great location

My family and I just stayed this past weekend at this charming cottage and it did not disappoint. It was tastefully decorated, clean, and had all the necessary comforts of home readily available. There was an informative catalogue offered that provided some helpful local information if you weren’t familiar with the area. Perfect location to downtown, Anastasia Island, and all the places we were hoping to visit. The owners were very communicative and helpful. We would highly recommend this home and look forward To our next visit. ❤️

Cutest House in St. Augustine

This house is such an amazing place to stay!! Myself and 6 other girls stayed here for my bachelorette weekend and this place was PERFECT!! The vibe was great for a girls trip and it had everything we needed! It was very spacious and very close to downtown and the beach!! We had such an amazing time staying here. The owner was very easy to reach and even sent us a sweet personalized gift for me and the girls!! I would very highly recommend this place for families, friends, or anyone!!

The house was charming and very clean. Location in the area was good for getting to the beach and to historic. The owners were very responsive to the one thing we needed adjusting. One suggestion would be a small single-serve coffee maker. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!

A Great Place!

When we stayed here, we were so close to everything we wanted to do, and the location is very walkable. And the house couldn’t be cuter! We had a couple of issues, and the hosts went above and beyond to resolve the situation. Everything you will need is in the cottage. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation!

Wonderful stay!

We had a great time at this property, it was so clean and cute inside, had everything we needed and the host was so nice. The host left us a beautiful basket that was tailored to our group, which was a really thoughtful touch! There was a little issue with beds but the host fixed it immediately! Would definitely recommend to anyone going to St Augustine!

The house was in a good location and well decorated except for the curtains that were see through,so we felt like we wereIn a fishbowl, no privacy at all specially at night. We had to put blankets on the windows because of the light from outside in order to be able to sleep. Weekend Wedding Getaway

This home and property is amazing. I’ve stayed in various areas of St. Augustine and this was by far my favorite. The hosts have done an outstanding job stocking this home with literally everything you might need - even food for the wildlife. The decor is beautiful, with an especially lovely backyard great for morning coffee and outdoor dining. We had a very small wedding in the yard and it was magical. Very much appreciate all the hosts did to make it special. Will definitely stay here again.

Hayley was so great to work with. The house was great and the backyard spectacular. The inside of the house was perfect and very welcoming. Walking distance to the historic downtown and a 5 minute drive to the beaches. Truly a classic St Augustine experience.

Cozy Cottage

We rented this cottage because it was not far from the historic areas and restaurants; however, when we arrived, the environment was so serene that we only went out to dinner once, and to the beach to watch the sunrise. This cottage is spacious, and in a very quiet neighborhood. The literature placed in the resting areas added such a homely touch. It was a treat to just sit on the enclosed porch reading or spend quality preparing dinner together in the kitchen We really enjoyed our stay there! Sabrina

Best, Cutest Cottage

The May Street cottage is the best! It’s just around the corner from the beautiful Magnolia St. and The Fountain of Youth. The Property Manager was fantastic! She made it personable and very special for our 50 the Birthday Girl Trip! Would highly recommend. It had everything we needed. We will be rebooking.
