Your families Ideal location for the 2020’s. In a private road and a secluded setting with its own front door just far enough away from the bustle of St ives and yet within easy reach if you desire. Overlooking Carbis Bay with the facilities of the Carbis Bay Hotel a 10 minute walk away. In the other direction can be found the Tregenna Castle hotel with its golf course which is also a 10 minute walk.
Go to bed with the doors open and you will fall asleep to the sound of the sea; step out onto the covered balcony and be instantly connected with the coast line and beach. You may even spot dolphins in the Bay. Have breakfast outside under cover in the early morning sun and plan whether to go out or simply stay where you are. The view is stunning. This Light Filled apartment is on the first floor of an Edwardian Country House which was built for the St Ives School of Artists. There are 2 bathrooms (one en-suite), with a large, high ceilinged Bedroom with Sea views and a door to the Balcony. The Main living room is double aspect with French Windows also leading onto the balcony. The kitchen/diner has a range cooker, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dish washer. The property is set in a Sub Tropical Garden It is accessed via 2 sets of steps down from the lane outside. It is suitable for couples of all ages and those with children, however, children should be supervised on the balcony. There are 7 other properties in the building, some of which are private residencies and not rented out. The house is situated in Treloyhan which is the most exclusive area of St Ives. In springtime the scent of wild garlic is wonderful. The house is ideally situated 100 metres from the South West Coast Path. The whole area is a haven for wildlife which includes Owls, Buzzards, Green Woodpecker and a myriad of smaller birds. Foxes and Badgers may be glimpsed. Specimen trees are in abundance in the area. The best way to enjoy all of this is by walking. The pedestrian pathway leads through the Gardens on the Seaward side of the house down a pathway lined with ancient moss covered granite walls to Haines Walk . Then you must decide whether to turn right to Carbis Bay where you can enjoy the facilities of the Carbis Bay Hotel, the beach with its water sports and marvellous walks or turn left towards St Ives itself. The location is perfect. Another option is to walk to the Tregenna Castle Hotel where you can be enjoying a round of golf within 10 minutes with probably the best view of St Ives from the 12th Fairway! Tescos is also a 10 minute walk as is our local the Cornish Arms. This is genuinely a special place. This apartment is also perfect to explore the Poldark series locations.

A quiet, relaxing place to stay with a fabulous view over Carbis Bay. Be prepared for the challenging up and downs of the paths at first… however after a few days it was a real pleasure to walk into St Ives and back and Carbis Bay and back. Would stay again.

We could not think of a better place to stay. Carbis Bay is beautiful and St. Ives in good and pretty walking distance (15-20 minutes). The appartment is very quiet, sitting on the balcony is very relaxing.

We stayed for a week at this Edwardian flat situated high above Carbis Bay and near the coastal path. We woke up to coastal views from the master bedroom and I often had my coffee looking out to the sea. The property has a nice balcony with grand views up the coastline. If you like historical properties you'll like this place. The kitchen is well equipped and the listing description is accurrate. I would highly recommend this place.

Our third stay here . Perfect location and a lovely , homely feel to the flat . Our favourite place to sit is on the chair by the window in the bedroom , fabulous view across the bay .

We really enjoyed our stay. The view was stunning ... we were sad to leave and are still missing that view and being able to hear the lovely sounds of the sea ... very relaxing. My only criticism is that the bed in the main bedroom could be a bit bigger (it's only standard size) and more comfortable, although it may of course suit other people.

The apartment was beautiful, cosy, and spotlessly clean. The views and the location were just gorgeous and we enjoyed our stay very much. What a beautiful place! We totally fell in love with it and with the whole area, and can’t wait to come back. Thank you Susie for having us. Warm wishes, Zuzana

I loved the view from the balcony, it was so peaceful sitting there drawing and painting. The walk along the coastal path into St Ives is about 15 minutes, with trees, lovely houses to look at, and views the whole way. Would definitely go back. Thank you

We had a wonderful week staying in this apartment. A great location for exploring this corner of Cornwall and easy access to St Ives, without the challenge of finding somewhere to park! The views were unbeatable ! We loved having breakfast on the balcony or sitting in the garden, watching the waves rolling in. SO very relaxing :) The flat itself has everything you need and very spacious. Very well equipped and with Tesco just up the road, self catering is very easy. Big thanks to Susie who was very helpful and brilliant at replying to messages/ questions we had. That was much appreciated. We would love to return here and would recommend 100%!

Very out dated needs a lot of work but the views made up for that, not to say you shouldn’t spend money on it because compared to the property next door it very poor inside needs new sofas and bed bathrooms need updating

We had the most amazing week in Carbis Bay, made all the better by a week of blue skies and hot (for May) sun. The apartment is in a great location with clear views over Carbis Bay and out towards Godrevy Lighthouse. It was clean and tidy when we arrived with a well stocked kitchen which felt more akin to a second home being rented out than a commercial rental property. Due to its location above the western end of Carbis Bay, it was a downhill walk via the Southwest Coastal Path (although paved, it is steep in places) to either St Ives (for a mooch around the shops or popping into a restaurant or two) or Carbis Bay Beach for a day messing around in the sea.

We were greeted by Jill who was friendly and very helpful . The apartment was homely and spacious .We were also greeted with vases of flowers and a bottle of wine . Views from the bedroom and verandah were stunning . Access to the coastal path directly from the garden was ideal . We enjoyed lots of fabulous walks into St Ives and beyond . Our only criticism was the allocated parking space , it was not always free and turning a larger car in such a congested area was tricky .

Cute cottage style apartment with stunning views of the coast. We loved the direct access to the coastal footpath for daily outings. The apartment was charming and spacious: well equipped eat-in kitchen, dishwasher, laundry washer, large living room with balcony access, comfortable main bedroom with views and a reading nook, and a cosy second room with two singles. The apartment had been very nicely cleaned for us on arrival and the appliances and WIFI worked well. The host was prompt and helpful in replying to our messages. Nice additions would be to make available a few extra supplies such as shampoo, tissues, and to top up soap dispensers. This is perhaps more noted by international guests who can't carry liquids through security and don't wish to purchase such items only to dispose of them after a week. That said, the cottage is extremely convenient to a Tesco superstore (3 minute walk). We avoided the use of the shower & bath in the main bathroom due to concerns raised by the host on a tendancy for an alarm to sound if water splashes onto the floor. This wasn't a problem for our family as we simply used the ensuite shower. However, it could be more of a nuissance for other guests who prefer separate bathrooms. If there is a fix, that would be welcome. We had a very lovely stay and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

In general, we tend to agree with most reviews on HomeAway. But of late, we’ve found ourselves curiously at variance with some reviews. To a reasonable extent, this remains the case with the present property. The positives: fantastic view, good shower, lovely balcony and a generally attractive apartment. The negatives: the mattresses in the small second room are in urgent need of replacement. One is very soft while the other is sufficiently tired that the springs protrude uncomfortably through the surface. As a result, we left a day early as one of us could not face the prospect of another night in this ‘accommodation’. In addition, as one other reviewer noted, it can be extremely difficult to turn the car round in the road if you have a longer model (in our case, 4.5 m). The alternative is to park it a little way up the hill, though this may not suit those with mobility issues or small children. In sum, an attractive apartment that would suit couples but, at present, not friends.

This is the second year we have stayed in this flat and we love it. The view over the bay is second to none and we love to sit on the covered balcony with a glass of wine and just watch the world go by. The flat is located between Carbis Bay and St Ives and it is a relatively short and lovely downhill walk into St Ives for the coffee shops and restaurants, or the other way down to the beach. It should be noted that the walk down is much easier than coming back up, so anyone with mobility problems should beware. However there is a dedicated parking space up a few steps from the front door and this is very convenient for getting out to explore the district and coming back at the end of the day. We never had any problems with the space being occupied by someone else. There is a medium sized Tesco supermarket within 5 minutes by car and this is well stocked and has a Costa coffee shop. There are other shops in Hayle, again a short drive away. The flat is well equipped with all you need for the stay and is clean and comfortable. You need to take toilet rolls, but tablets are provided for the dishwasher and washing machine. We sleep well in the lovely bright main bedroom and although we haven't cooked that many meals everything you need is there. The second bedroom is small with just room for the two single beds. Communication with the owner has been very good and she sends reminders for bin days and so on. She responds very quickly to any query. Overall, good value for money

On our arrival we were greeted by Jill, who showed us round the apartment and gave us some information on local eateries, etc. We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the apartment is (the photos do not do it justice). Then there were the views - absolutely breath taking of Carbis Bay, Hayle Bay and beyond. The gentle sound of the sea breaking against the shore is something we will miss, especially at night as it lulls you to sleep. We would recommend dinner at Porthmeor Beach Café, especially the tapas (we were lucky enough to have a beautiful clear, sunny day and were treated to a spectacular sunset) - we booked a few weeks in advance and requested a heated booth (perfect when the sun sets and the evening turns chilly). The local pub, The Cornish Arms, hold a quiz night every Wednesday (we came last!). The food was absolutely delicious, we would recommend the fish and chips. To summarise, the apartment offers great value for money, clean, bright and spacious with all the home comforts. The beds are very comfortable, showers easy to use, towels provided and good wifi connection. Jill was very friendly and gave us tips on where to eat, etc. St. Ives has all the eateries/pubs/shops you could want but best of all is the location and views over the bay. There were 4 of us and we took two cars, one we parked outside the apartment as advised and we had no problem parking our other car just up the road on the street. We were even greeted with a bottle of wine and Jill had left us milk in the fridge. THANK YOU. Yes, we would love to stay at this apartment again.

Pros: -A really fantastic view of the bay as detailed in other comments -A very spacious apartment -Decent, well equiped kitchen -Great location for access to beaches and local Tesco Cons: - The property hadn't been cleaned properly on arrival and was generally quite dirty (eg stained carpets, dust on pans/skirting boards, cobwebs in rooms, stains on surfaces, mould on upper bedroom window (behind blind) and mould on shower head (yuk) -There was only one handwash between 2 toilets and kitchen (we had to buy our own) - The property is very tired and clearly hasn't had much investment for decades in many areas (eg old, very stained carpets, lino floor in one bathroom with ceiling damaged in many places, Artex ceiling in the other - very 1980's) - Curtain rail mechanism fell down so many times in one of the bathrooms we had to stop using it -Despite thanking me for flagging the numerous issues, Susie the owner did nothing to address any of them. She initially said she would be in contact about them but only initiated contact at the end of the holiday to ask me to put bins out. I advised that I had taken photos of everything to which she then said would see to them "in good time". -The owners main concern seemed to revolve around ensuring holiday makers put the bins out for her in time. I've never written a negative review like this before but felt it necessary as there are so many reviews raving about the apartment and personally I felt quite mislead by them. In terms of the view - yes absolutely fantastic, but I find it very hard to believe everyone else missed what was very clear to see. Even my young daughter was even pointing various things out.

The best aspect of this accommodation was the absolutely wonderful view looking out over the beautiful garden to the sea and Carbis Bay. It really was stunning and lovely to sit on the substantial balcony and enjoy the spectacular view. The location between Carbis bay and St Ives was perfect and accessed in both direction by a lovely wooded path. Getting to this path would be a bit difficult for anyone with mobility problems however so bear this in mind. The accommodation itself was very well equipped. It was comfortable as opposed to luxururious, which is accurately reflected in the photos. It was a bit tired looking but certainly had everything you could need. Could have done with some cushions on the sofa but maybe this was a throwback to covid. The main bedroom was lovely and bright with a very large and lovely window looking out over the sea. Also patio doors opening to the balcony. The bed was very comfortable. It had a good ensuite with a very good shower. The second bedroom was very small - pretty much just fitted the two single beds. The kitchen had everything equipment wise. Just a tip to take tinfoil, kitchen roll etc as nothing like this provided. Plenty of dishwasher tablets though! Very short on toilet rolls too so take some spare. We only had 1 and 1/4 rolls for the two toilets. We always managed to park just outside the property which was good. Never had any noise issues with other people in the large property. Having the Tesco just up the road was so useful! The Cornish Arms was a good pub for food. Not many other options for eating out in the immediate area unless you can afford Carbis Bay Hotel which looked amazing but out of our league! Communication with the owner was very good. We did need to contact her about something and she responded immediately.
