"Staff was very friendly and the pool was refreshing on the hot day.
However the bed wasn't very comfortable, the air conditioner was very loud even on low but the worst part was that the fire alarm for the whole hotel went off twice very early in the morning so we also were awakened very early on top of a bad nights sleep.
Also, if you're considering staying on a week night, know that nearly everything closes by 5PM including restaurants and some aren't open on weekdays at all."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. While the rooms are not particularly fancy, they are clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. We found the on-site restaurant to be a great addition with reasonably priced food and very attentive, helpful staff.
However, there are a few things future guests should keep in mind regarding late-night amenities. The restaurant closes quite early, and there are no vending machines or microwaves available for guest use. This meant that when we returned...
"I was pleasantly surprised for our stay. We would have stayed another night if we didn't have a time issue. Everything was SUPER clean, it was old, but taken care of. The property manager (owner?) was so super nice and welcoming. There are even chairs to sit on in front of your room so you can enjoy the night time. If you are in Luray and need a place to stay I would definitely give The Cardinal Inn a thumbs up."
