We had a nice room on the 18th floor with beautiful views. The room was a great size with a large bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had generous selections. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel location is central, very close to shops, restaurants, cafes. Staff are excellent, very helpful and very kind. Would stay here again when in town.

Best place to stay, definitely would do this again

This is a good and clean hotel with excellent transport options and nearby shopping. The number 8 tram stops are a one minute walk away. One direction goes into Basel reaching several popular areas including the Messe convention area and the main train station. The other direction goes into the Weil am train station and shopping areas. Across the street of the hotel is also the Rhein center with several shops and restaurants that open late. Hotel was wonderful and the price was so reasonable. It was in the middle of a quaint fortress old town just a couple of blocks from the Rhine River. It was super close to the train station. It made us feel like we were living 10 centuries ago but yet the hotel was totally updated and very comfortable. Would love to go back.

One of The best places We have Ever visited. And there are many. Big recommendation, and The restaurant should get A Michelin. Not The cheapest, but worth every penny.

A nice hotel 15 minutes from central Basel via bus #36. There is a bus stop 2 minutes away from the hotel. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was worth the money. Note to Basel tourists, this is not a hotel located in Basel but Germany so if you want to get a mobility ticket for free public transport you have to book a hotel located in Basel.The room is very spacious. Hotel Spalentor offers a wonderful, well run place to stay in a perfect location for access to the old town or to get to the train station. Old school kind of place wheree they give you a physical key for your room but everything is clean as a whistle.

The most efficient use of space ever in a hotel room. U.S. hotels should learn from these guys. Best bathtub...narrow and deep, perfect for soaking after a hard day of travel. Very clean, modern and welcoming room. Two entrances into bathroom, perfect if spouse sleeps in and you get up early. Very well appointed room. The staff was incredibly helpful as well.
