King Street Lane, near Stonesby. King Street Lane follows the line of a Roman road linking Thistleton and Goadby Marwood and probably continuing to Margidunum, (East Bridgeford, Nottinghamshire). This is one of numerous roads which linked military bases in the Leicester area to the major routes, for example the Fosse Way, although there is some evidence that their origin is earlier.
