About this property
Backyard splendor!!!
You may be coming for the rivers, lake, trails, or mines but you might just end up lounging in the spacious backyard. Almost 2 acres of the property is level and clear with lots a space for horseshoes, baggo, badminton or even a some tag football. Another acre slopes down to the bullfrog pond where you can practice your casting skills or just relax and listen to the birds and bullfrogs. Maybe you would prefer chillin' by the firepit or under one of the many shade trees. Inside the 1665 sq. ft. home, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen with full size applicances and all the modern kitchenware to whip up your favorite meals. We'll even include a dozen farm fresh eggs in memory of Pearl. Grill utensils and charcoal included for the charcoal grill. The large open floor plan living space includes a sofa and loveseat and features a gas log fireplace and a small gas heater for those chilly mornings. The 2 large bedrooms in the sleeping part of the house becomes a little more secluded with the unique hallway door. The king bedroom has a king-size bed, television. Our bunkroom has two sets of bunkbeds with 4 full sized mattresses, television and DVD/VCR player which can be rolled to other rooms in the house. The bathroom in the sleeping area includes a bathtub/shower while the 2nd bathroom off the mudroom/laundry room has a standup shower. The laundry room consist of full size washer and dryer. So even if you ended up in a rain storm while out floating, biking, hiking or diggin' for crystals, you can duck in the shower straight from the laundry. Additionally, there is a 32' carport which works out great for parking a truck with a trailer or 3 vehicles. And, if the weather is a little damp, it can even be set up for your patio party. You can also find us on Facebook. So who’s Pearl? Pearl was a beloved icon of the Sweet Home community. She lived on the homestead just around the curve in the cabin that was built in 1907. No insulation except newspapers. She cooked on a wood stove every day and used an outhouse until they added on an indoor bathroom. She had a garden, chickens and milk cows so all the neighbors came to her for their eggs, produce, milk and butter. When I was thinking about a name for the house, I made the comment that even though it was 1980’s retro, Pearl would have thought it was a palace. So we left the original decor and accessorized with the 80's in mind. Come relive childhood memories and share with your family days gone by. PS, have some fresh eggs on Pearl.

The property was clean it had everything you need very quiet neighborhood enjoyed sitting outside in the afternoon after a hard day digging... Great place to stay
The property was clean and cozy with all the things we needed. Had plenty of room to let our great dane roam and play outside. The list of places to eat and brochures were lovely to help us determine where to go and eat.
We came to the area to walleye fish. Had a guided fishing trip, Jeff Larch Pro Fishing, and stayed here. The bed was super comfy, the place was so clean. I loved all of the old timey stuff in the house. We plan on staying again and bringing our children. We caught a couple of bass in the pond (use a frog lure if it’s green!) and enjoyed sitting outside in the carport just chatting. Hundred percent would recommend!!
This was about as perfect a spot as we ever could have hoped for. Plenty of space inside and out. It was like going to your grandma's house in the country. Its close enough to do everything the area has to offer then come back and relax without seeing any other people. This is a great place to stay no mater what you are doing in the area. The only down side is its a dry county but the line is only 10 or 15 minutes away.
My friend and I had such a lovely time. We mostly did a lot of porch sittin' and watching light rainfall, listening to the bull frogs and the birds. Did some cooking, some jamming (we're musicians), and just enjoyed the property. I was impressed with the stack of pamphlets and maps for things to do. Next time I'm back I would love to explore the local hiking and nature trails, which there were also plenty of maps to review. Looking forward to my next stay.
Property was wonderful and easy to get to. Pleanty of room and supplies provided. Communicated with owner a couple times priot to arrival and all was very smooth. My only suggestion would be to provide a television in the living room. Would have been nice to have everyone abke to sit and watch a little tv together.
Nice spacious and comfy home. It had everything we needed and them some. Loved hearing the bullfrogs at night. Location was perfect for hitting all the mines and keeping that country feeling. This was the break away from the city life we needed.
Eggs were delicious 😋 i was over the moon to find there was an airfryer as well...bonus!
Will absolutely stay here again if its available next time. Huge space for 2, want to bring some frineds too. We closed off the bunk room to keep it clean, rolled tv into living room and were all set.
You wont be disappointed with this space!
After looking at several properties in the area, this property was the best fit for me even though it was just me and the home sleeps many more people comfortably. The location was perfect and it was priced very affordably. I was very surprised at how well the home was stocked with amenities and high quality kitchen equipment. The back yard was beautiful and well maintained and the clenliness of the home was top notch. It had everything I needed and much more. The fresh farm eggs for breakfast was fantastic. Karen was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. It certainly made me want to come back.
Please note, my rating reflects things that affected us but would not be issues for other people. The house layout was exceptional! Open rooms, plenty of space and amenities.
The yard area was as described. Very large with plenty of room to move about. Having a blind dog this was an asset as she could wander without running into things. We did not get to enjoy the pond. Unfortunately, we stayed during mosquito season (and high temperatures) and that limited evening outdoor time. Just a timing thing on our part.
Having the street so close was an oversight on our part. It is busy with traffic all day and night. This was an adjustment.
Overall the house was tidy. We did have issues in the kitchen with ants (again realize that is a seasonal issue) but the owner had put out baits. We had some clean up in the kitchen and bedrooms to remove dust, and debris. Again, allergy issues that affect us may not be an issue for others.
I would highly recommend this place for people visiting the area! It was close to our favorite crystal mines. In town, Bob's food market even had some gluten free items to round out the food we brought with us. I really appreciated the kitchen as we ate all of our meals in.
I would return to this location, just pick timing that would allow full enjoyment of all it has to offer.
Perfect distance to everything we enjoy. A tv in the living room would be my ONLY suggestion. The home was clean and had helpful notes for ease of use. Perfect for our anniversary get away.
Pearls Palace was just perfect for us. We met our children and grandkids here and enjoyed the space so much!! So clean and comfortable, just like going to your favorite aunts house!
