This is a great property, with a great host. Everything is as described and you can book with confidence. The location is perfect, with easy access to the best Galloway has on offer. It was great to look across the sea to Northern Ireland from the dining table and patio. Very spacious and spotlessly clean.
The
This far exceeded my expectations, for 3 generations it was ideal having 2 lounges. Every room is large enough for everyone to be together if you want or room to spread out. The location is excellent, with easy access to various places of interest. The view of the sea and ireland in the distance was an added bonus
Great property, in a fab location, lots of walks nearby just a short drive. Woods to the rear of the property, ideal if you have dogs. Found some great places to eat not to far away, Morrisons delivers to the property. Ideal for multi generational or multiple families! We loved the peace and quiet, along with seeing deer in the garden!
The property was absolutely ideal and was certainly put through its paces with a 1-yr old and a 93 yr-old spanning the years and requirements for a true holiday break. Great having two living room spaces and excellent sized and well-equipped kitchen. Elspeth was extremely helpful and it was reassuring to know she was contactable if necesary.
This was our second holiday there, so we knew what to expect. A well kept property which offers excellent facilities and privacy. There’s lots to do in the surrounding area.We will be coming again
Lovely big house, great surrounding countryside and views.
Would certainly stay here again.
House had everything we needed and Asda deliver groceries to your door.
Perfect weeks get away!
Beautiful well maintained big house. We had 5 children with us for 2weeks age range 3-17yrs. The kids loved having their own livingroom which was a bonus for us. Lovely surroundings and lovely drives to beech, town etc.

fabulous house
The house is big and comfortable and had everything we could possibly need during our stay. There were deer, pheasants and a hare in the garden every day. The owners were extremely welcoming and accommodating and left delicious shortbread and tablet. And on top of that the Rhins of Galloway are such a lovely place to visit - you really can't ask for much more!!

Wonderful house - great location!
Stayed here for a week in September and had a great time. The house is really big (we were 5 adults and 1 child) and decorated to a very high standard. I would say "home from home" but I think it's better that our house!
We used all the facilities - and everything worked perfectly. Despite the size and remote location it was also really cozy the minute you put the heating on so even a good place in the colder months.
The location was great for us - lots of nice places to eat/drink in nearby Portpartick, with lots to see and do nearby. We loved the Mull of Galloway and Logan Botanic Gardens in particular.
Elspeth was really helpful before and during our stay as well and we would highly recommend this property.

amazing place in the beautiful place
we have recently came back from a lovely weekend at Knockinaam House. We have visited the area for the first time and definitely not last. We were amazed by the beauty of nature and attractions. The house itself is amazing. It offers everything you need for nice and relaxing breaks as well as longer stays. Kitchen extremely well equipped. Very nice decorated bedrooms, 2 living rooms are amazing for family entertainment. The house is very clean and modern. The ambience is fantastic. All situated in extremely beautiful landscape scenery. Thank you for having us. It was fantastic.
We stayed for one week in July 2022 in this very nice house. The contact with the owners was very smooth. The complete house and especially the kitchen was extremely well equipped, and the beds were comfortable too. The location of the house is in a very nice and quiet area. Located nearby the sea with some nice beach areas and cliffs ... a beautiful part of Scotland.
Overall, we can only recommend this house especially for families and larger groups.
Special recommendation nearby: Kitchen Coos & Ewes for a farm tour with highland cows and Knockinaam Lodge for the tea time or a dinner.
Wonderfully comfortable and spacious, so well equipped and just the most gorgeous location. Deer and hares playing nearby, views as far as Belfast harbour and a short drive to Portpatrick and Stranraer.
The house is immaculately clean, modern, warm and really well equipped with everything you could need - from TVs to beautiful dinner sets.
The location is perfect for lovely walks, and for getting out to explore locally. There are great places to eat out nearby or just sit on the huge terrace, watch the sun set or stare at the clear skies as there's no light pollution. The gardens are huge and a lovely space to watch nature...more butterflies than we could count!
Elspeth was super helpful with any questions and suggestions and made sure we had everything we needed.
Couldn't recommend enough - lovely home, shoulder-dropping tranquility...didn't want to leave!

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Luxury no more.
This is a lovely property that has been allowed to go to seed. The first meal we prepared we discovered a serious lack of utensils and we had to wash everything before use, baking trays caked with burnt on grease the glassware was filthy covered in fingerprints and lipstick unfortunately it is difficult to find anything that was outstanding, apart from the showers, every one in our party thought they were great. The other thing that needs attention is the driveway up to the property the potholes need filling as some of them are really deep. Finally when this accommodation opened approximately 5 years ago it was probably a 5 star property, unfortunately it would struggle to attain 3 stars today.

Wow would be a sum up to this stunning house!
The house was absolutely stunning. The home made biscuits and tablet were such a lovely touch, when we first arrived the house was lovely and warm thanks to Elspeth.
The kids adored the space they had in the house and so did the adults lol. The house itself is in such a lovely setting and the kids adored exploring the surrounding forest. It did have WiFi and 2 tv’s but we had such a good time just walking with the kids and having cosy chats round the log fire that we didn’t even use them.
Have to say this is by far the best house we have ever had the pleasure of staying in and it certainly would be our last visit.
Can’t wait till next year!

Amazing!
The house is fabulous. So much space and fitted out to an amazing standard. Wildlife in abundance on the doorstep - sheep with their lambs, a very nosey pheasant, deer, hares, even a fox! The grandchildren loved it! So much that they want Gran and Papa to buy it!! Close to Portpatrick and some beautiful beaches. Lots of lovely places for coffee and cake/lunches and dinner. We walked to Knockinaam Lodge Hotel, about 30 mins, and well worth it! Beautiful old hotel and gorgeous location. We sat in the sunshine on the lawn overlooking the beach and enjoyed refreshments. Perfect!
It's a beautiful part of the country. We were only there for a few nights and it was just great. Daughter and husband home for a holiday from Australia and it gave us the time and space just to catch up and relax as a family. There were 8 of us, 6 adults and 2 children and there was plenty space for all of us! Lovely homemade tablet and shortbread left for us - thank you Elspeth - was delicious! Would highly recommend!

Fantastic property in beautiful surroundings
We all had a fantastic time staying at Knockinaam house, the house was great, very well equipped, lots of space and high spec. Owners are extremely helpful and friendly, biscuits and chocolates for our arrival was a lovely touch and that it was decorated for Christmas. The views are great particularly the sunrise on the clear days. Would be great in the summer sitting on the patio. The out buildings would be great if developed into a games room/gym/ hot tub! All in all a great property that we would definitely recommend if you want somewhere remote, peaceful with space and top spec.

Absolutely Fantastic House in a Stunning Location
The house was the perfect size for our group of eight and was lovely clean and modern. The kitchen was well kitted out with everything needed to cook for eight...the slow cooker was a god send!
The location was beautiful and peaceful with a lovely sunset over the sea. Portpatrick was a short drive answer worth a visit.
Would definitely recommend a stay!
