Good location for price range in stratfford near theatre
The Wellington Street Inn is actually a small number of rooms above a business-the Pizza Bistro in downtown Stratford. Check-in is at the bistro and billing is through the Pizza Bistro which we were not aware of until the day before our stay. Our room was quiet, comfortable and nicely decorated - no major complaints. Parking in the area is $1 hour between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm and free parking was several blocks away which is fine if you don’t mind the walk. I would consider staying there again.

Great location and nice modern room. Water pressure in shower not great.
The check in was fine. The free parking they mention is in the free city lot a couple of blocks away.
The room was alright. All the linens were stained and we had no housekeeping for the entire time we were there. Hang up your towels you will be using them again.
A word of warning to anyone with mobility issues you will be climbing very steep stairs.
The room was very large and looked as if it had been recently updated. The overhead lights seemed to be missing some bulbs so the lighting was low. We had some difficulties with the television because we had a Phillips TV but an RCA remote. We left early enough the next morning that the office was not open to report this. Fortunately, we spent very little time in the room so these shortcomings didn't really affect us.

Theater Weekend
Wonderful weekend in Stratford for the theater. Was a little surprised that the hotel is two suites above an Italian restaurant. Location and size of room were excellent. This place could be so much better. Here's some thoughts...a king bed, better linens and towels, a less drab paint colour, bathroom floor mat, a working coffee machine and cleaning the ceiling vent in the bathroom. I hope you take this as constructive advice and make the place as good as it could be. Another suggestion, a card in the room with instructions on the place and how to check out. Thank you again for the wonderful stay.
Upon entering the property the carpets were filthy. The room was dark and dingy. The bedcover was thin and the sheets were thin. The pillow was flat. The shower water pressure was weak. The room looked out onto the pizzeria kitchen's exhaust fan. It was like being in a dorm room. Fortunately we didn't spend much time there. For over $200 I expected more. It was essentially a pizzeria with a couple of rooms to rent out.
The hotel is hard to find. In fact, it consists of three (large, comfortable) rooms above a place called "Pizza Bistro." There is a sign saying "Wellington Street Inn" which is noticeable once you are there, but we drove past it (and tried to check into another place!) before arriving at the right spot. We checked in with a waitress at the bistro who gave us a room key and pointed to a flight of stairs. That was it for the staff on this one night stay. We had to ascend two long flights of stairs to get to our room. The stairs were covered with well worn carpeting and we were a little leery of what we had done as we climbed. The good news is that the room was spotless, enormous, nicely appointed, with couch, chairs, kitchen facilities, microwave, small fridge, coffee machine and iron. We had enormous trouble connecting to the internet (and were about to go back down to the bistro, with reluctance!) when one of us discovered that the password, listed as pizzabistro***, required a capital P and B. The room was quiet. The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of a charming city. We had a good night.
It was a bit odd to check in at a pizzeria, but the room was great - very clean and cozy, the bed was very comfortable, and everything was just great! Not a lot of amenities but would definitely stay there again

Hide away hotel in the heart of everything
While it took some doing to find because we were not informed that the front desk was actuallly the cashier's counter of the adjacent restaurant, after ascending some stairs behind an unassuming door, we were pleasantly surprised. The room was large, private, quiet, fairly well decorated, and overlooked the market square. Unbeknownst to us the market place hosted a beerfest the day of our arrival and a farmer's market the Sunday of our departure. There were several excellent restaurants in the area and it was a short walk to the main strip. My wife and I feel that we discovered a hidden gem. The only foreseeable issue was parking. It didn't apply to us because we came in and left the street side parking while parking was free. If you came on another day and parked close you would have to pay. Otherwise you would have to park two blocks away to ensure free parking.
Room was spacious clean comfortable. The only negative was the unexpected two long flights of stairs. They were carpeted so comfortable I would recommend this accommodation if stairs are ok with you
Check in at the restaurant beside the hotel door. Entrance not too good but the room was clean spacious and had a new bathroom. I would go there again.
Perfect location and comfortable room. Was great for one night or a weekend.

Great rooms; some details need work
These rooms are big and nicely furnished. There's a fridge and microwave, dishes and cutlery. Great family accommodation.
But we couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work despite the handwritten password information taped to the counter. The TV didn't work in one of the rooms either. In one room the AC wasn't working, which was fine since there was a nice breeze and the owners happily deducted $50 from the room cost. But the bedside lamps and many of the electrical outlets didn't work either or we couldn't figure out where the power switch was. These lovely, historic rooms have high beautiful windows but the blinds were rolled to the top so you needed to stand on a chair to reach them to pull them down.
Finally,it's time for new linens and a more crisply made bed. Our sheets were pilled and had a small stain and the towels in both bathrooms were grey and well used. The lovely walk-in showers and beautiful bathrooms deserve fluffy, white fresh towels.
The inn is part of the pizza restaurant downstairs where we were warmly greeted (we didn't eat there but it smelled and looked delicious). But on Sunday morning it's closed and we weren't directed how to drop off keys or contact the owners during the off hours.
We liked it and we'd stay again but a little more information and attention to detail would help justify the $250-a-night cost of the Wellington.
great place to rest your head in this amazing town
We took a quick getaway to indulge in great dining and some down time in a beautiful spot close by. We are from Kingsville, south of Windsor
Always LOVE what Stratford has to offer....the pianos throughout the town were a pleasant surprise and just one more amazing touch

Rough ouitside excellent inside.
The room was well equipped and clean. The shower curtain did not prevent water dangerously moving over the bathroom floor. The initial appearance was disappointing with a street level door in need of paint and a high flight of steps (25) which would be impossible to climb for disabled guests. This restriction must be included in publicity. Custodian assistance at the Pizza-Bistro shop next door was pleasant and very helpful.
