This medieval castle was built in the 13th century, was rebuilt having been destroyed by fire during the 18th century, and has been in ruins since demolished by Napoleon’s Army in 1809. Whilst only some of the masonry remains today, it’s a popular destination or stop for hikers.

"TRAVELER BEWARE: This apartment is in a slum and had the worst smell I've ever experienced. The harmful odor was repugnant and pervasive. My wife almost puked from the smell. We left after less than a minute. To pick up the key to the apartment you need to drive 15 minutes away to an odd office and can only communicate with the owner via email or Whatsapp. So we had to drive all the way back to drop off the key. "We stayed at the Radisson Blu Carlton for 7 nights in a premier room with a terrace. The room was very spacious and well kept, but the decor looked original to when the hotel reopened in 2001. We had room 103 and the only slight issue was on the first night the restaurant (not part of hotel) below us was hosting a private party and there was a din from the music until 2am. There were no other issues with noise during the stay - I would have appreciated the reception staff alerting us to this on arrival as it didn’t give a very good first impression. House keeping was great. All the staff were friendly and professional. There is a nice restaurant and bar, fitness suite and spa. Breakfast was good and lots of options available. Close to the tram stop, the eurovea shopping mall, the Danube (lots of nice waterfront restaurants) and the old town. Would stay again without hesitation."
