Lovely character hotel.

Staff are very friendly, food is very good and reasonably priced. The building is lovely and full of character, however the rooms are simply decorated. The location is excellent. Unfortunately, there were no parking spaces when we arrived in the afternoon so we had to park down the street, but parking is free in Long Melford so this wasn't a problem.

Nice cosy hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful . Had superior rooms over looking the street , they were very spacious with lovely comfortable bed and had everything needed for a stay . Breakfast was lovely with a good choice of food , good quality and tasty for the cost . Sunday roast lunch is lovely. Definitely recommend this hotel and looking forward to returning.

Full of charm and character, good food reasonably priced, the only negative was noise from adjoining rooms probably due to the oldness of the building.

This hotel is 15th Century. Absolutely gorgeous. Staff friendly and helpful. Cleanliness was excellent. Food great Enjoyed it so much going back next week.

The hotel is on a busy high street and the secondary glazing isn’t sealed. Hopefully they’ll sort out the banging kitchen door soon, avoid a room near the kitchen until then…

Poor

Check in was easy and friendly member of staff. Room was like an oven with no way to turn off radiator. Window only cracked open. Noise throughout night with a possible freezer kicking on and off. Bathroom door did not close. Evening restaurant bar staff terrible I ended up walking to the crown for food and a drink where service and staff were excellent.

Nice people. Horrible place

When i arrived the reception greeting was good. I got moved from a single to a double. The room was nice but very dated, as was the whole building. On checking out i was charged for breakfast. I explained that on the booking with Hotels.com the stsy was "breakfast included " but insisted that it was room only. I wasn't happy with this but they insisted i paid for breakfast. Not happy about this. Overall i wont stay there again.

Beautiful hotel , amazing food .

We booked a double room.but when we arrived they had let our room out and gave us a twin room so i complained and they added free breskfast & drinks so we were fine . The room was large The beds were made into a double & was large & comfortable, room had iron & iron board , safe , fan , good tea tray & a seating area . Room could do with a refurb but was clean & comfortable. The food at the hotel is amazing , the best roast dinner ive had in ages . Breakfast was very good too with high quality food and loads of choice . The staff were all very friendly . There is a lovely restaurant, great bar area where you can eat too and a comfortable lounge . The hotel is beautiful inside , very historic . We had a great stay and looking forward to going back to stay . Already recommended to friends .

Update required

Hotel needs a bit of TLC painting in need of, plus towel rad didn't work nor the fan and shower difficult to use. Furniture dated reported to sue on the reseption and was informed that this has been reported a long time and was going to have a full refurb but the money has ran out.
