Staff were very friendly and courteous. Kaiseki dinner and buffet breakfast were out of the world! Onsen, water temperature was perfect, and Jungle Onsen was interesting. From the very start the staff was very nice, even though we weren't the best tourists. We stayed a short time, and in that tike the staff was friendly, despite our Faux Pas and were willing to help us with arranging luggage forwarding. The room we booked was very clean and offered coffee, tea, and ice water in our rooms which we were free to use. Very good value—and a surprisingly good onsen!

Great experience as usual. Best onsen I've ever been in in Japan. It's right next to Hita station and across from Mikuma river.

Recently renovated. Very nice and large rooms. Breakfast was fantastic. You need to take a bus to get to the center but it is convenient to catch.

The draw for us was to stay in the old house, and it was worth it. The room is very spacious. But the best thing was the staff, they were extremely helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was great, made to accommodate a gluten and dairy allergy, both days the breakfast was delicious! The steps up to the bedroom are very steep, be careful if you are older or have young kids.

The Hinanosato was renovated about 6-8 years ago and it is an amazing place to stay - the decor is heavy on 60's themes which gives it a mellow / laid back feel. The staff are great, the breakfasts were wonderful and our room had a spectacular view of the Mikuma river. Parking on site is very limited but they have a couple parking lots nearby that can be used. Highly recommend this hotel!

Loved this place. A little trip to a quieter part of Japan. The hotel worked very very hard to accommodate gluten free meals for my mother even after I had forgotten to tell them ahead of time. They were very sweet to help my mom experience traditional Japanese food, gluten free. The canals were lovely to tour as well.
