"This hotel is solidly in the midprice tier that is increasingly difficult to find. Lately, it's hard to find a place that isn't a Courtyard or Home2 for $200 plus, or a creepy, dimly lit, dirty and barely maintained dump. The rooms and public spaces are not sparkling, but they are well-cleaned. Everything in my room and bathroom worked well, and it was ALMOST as well lit as a more expensive place. The two receptionists I dealt with were genuinely friendly and pleasant, and seemed to care about a guest's experience. No furniture was damaged, the fridge was set for a good temperature (no frozen carrots), the microwave was not only clean, but it didn't even smell like the fake butter in popcorn packages, and the mattresses and pillows, honestly, were in better shape than those of many more expensive places. The wall HVAC unit was quiet and effective. I'll stay here again next time I'm in town."

"The hotel was a bit run down. There was no lamp by the bed. The only light in the room was a garish overhead light that you had to walk to the door to shut off. Refrigerator was a bit worn. Breakfast was not worth sitting to eat. Honestly this room was not worth the price I paid. On the positive it was quiet and the staff were pleasant and responsive "

"I can't say enough good things about my stay at this charming cottage. My friend and I absolutely loved every item at the cottage. Incredibly clean, fully stocked kitchen, toys and water/food bowls for dogs, big back yard, big deck in the backyard. A great walking location to all the shops and restaurants within two blocks or so. It was too soon for me to leave. I loved it all. Highly, highly recommend!!"

"This is a great location very close to downtown Southern Pines. If you are coming to enjoy the area or coming for a golfers weekend, this is a great place to stay. It is very roomy, well setup for relaxation with plenty of places to sit and enjoy. I can't wait to come back and explore more and play some more of the 20 different golf courses in the area.I would say this is a great place for one large family or two families with separate sleeping quarters for both parents and kids. It will also be a great place for a group of golfers, one or 2 foursomes. "
