Ultimately, this house checked the basic boxes. It was clean, which is always a big plus, and it matched the listing. That said, it was very much a "no-frills" rental. There were very few of the extras we've come to expect in vacation homes. There were no games, no pantry space for storing groceries, no pot holders or extra kitchen towels, and the kitchen was only minimally stocked for a house that accommodates this many guests. There also weren't any shared beach or pool items (chairs, toys, floats, etc.), which many rentals tend to accumulate from previous guests. While none of these amenities were advertised, they're common enough that their absence was noticeable. The pool was also smaller than we expected from the photos, although it still met our needs. On the positive side, having a private bathroom for every bedroom was fantastic, and the beach access was definitely one of the property's strongest features. For comparison, another three families in our group stayed across the street, and their rental felt much more like a home. It was thoughtfully decorated, well-stocked, and offered many of the little extras that made the stay feel more comfortable and welcoming.Overall, this property served its purpose and was perfectly adequate if you're simply looking for a clean place to stay near the beach. Just don't expect many of the conveniences or added touches that are common in many vacation rentals. Zach was responsive whenever we reached out, although condescending.
