DAKU ISLAND in SIARGAO, Philippines is one of the stops on the islands tour which includes the islands of GUYAM, NAKED and DAKU and is usually the last and furthest stop although still only about 20 mins by boat from the dock in General Luna. There are various tour operators and hotels that provide tours but it is also possible to just turn up at the dock and get a local boatman to take you for P1500 (£21.42) which saves planning ahead and also gives you the option of changing the island order to avoid bad weather or crowds for example.

"I recently had the pleasure of staying at Mad Monkey Hostel Siargao and I must say, it was an amazing experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and friendly staff who were always willing to help. The hostel itself is located in a prime spot, just a short walk away from the famous Cloud 9 surf break and other popular spots on the island. "Cockroach and spider in our room. It's not worth it for the money we paid. We couldn't sleep worrying that Spiders and cockroaches would crawl into us while we were sleeping, so we left as soon as it hit 5 am."

"Location was right at the heart of Gen Luna so it's accessible and close to shops, restaurants and bars. Not too much to expect from the room. it just doesn't look the same as the pictures displayed on the website."

"This had been my place for 21 days last December and big props to the staff for taking care of me and making me feel at home. The beds are comfortable, the restaurants and bars are close by and environment is chill. Shout out to Jared, Kristel, and ate Joy!"

"It was a wonderful place to stay the amenities were great the food was pretty good The service was typical Filipino or as a restaurant go they could do a little improvements on that. But it was really a great place to stay Mike the owner is very nice I talked to him for a while and everything that was great. We stayed in room 213 which is the best room there It has a balcony that overlooks the ocean the pool restaurant and beautiful sunrise and sunset"

"Great place!! There were some renovations and building happening during my stay but it was still quite nice, comfortable, rooms were super clean and cozy. Staff were super hospitable! The only issue was the drainage in the bathroom, the floor isn’t on a tilt so the water stayed level and wouldnt go to the drain properly. But everything else was 10/10"
