"The Modernistas hotel is a true gem. We're an American couple who were staying in Rio for one evening. The hotel is small, adorable, unique, and in a terrific area, with plenty of bars, restaurants, and clubs within walking distance. It's also only a short cab ride to famous Rio destinations, including Ipanema, Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Loaf, etc. Do keep in mind that this is a very unique establishment and won't be a good fit for some travelers. "A very nice place in a great location. It's very clean and has all the conveniences. And it's close to the center of the city. The issue I had is they didn't send me the code to enter my room before I arrived. I couldn't reach them via email or watsapp, only a phone call worked (and the responder only spoke Portuguese)."
