Very glitzy, and majority of staff where great. How ever the breakfast options were the worst I have experienced in my 20 plus years of travelling and living in Fiji. In addition, we have paid for one room twice, and they refuse to refund so have stolen a considerable amount of our money.

They had no television during the Olympics so I had to leave That's the only reason I love the place other than that and Sarah and the bartender at check in was wonderful I don't like that you can't bring your own booze policy and all their stupid rules that you wouldn't know about until you got in your room and read the book if I get charged for anything extra we got a problem.

Fridge did not work. Shower floods the bathroom floor because of its design. TV in room but no signal? Small issues, overall good room, clean and very friendly staff. Good value for money.

My first room’s AC wouldn’t turn on. When the receptionist tried turning the switch on/off the switch fell apart. I was told she’d change my room. I was given two options - one sea-view room with a noisy AC or a silent AC with concrete buildings as view. I chose to bear the noisy AC which I think hadn’t been serviced in years because it started blowing/leaking water when I turned turbo on. Overall, I had an average time at James Cook Hotel because I was only in Suva for one night to attend a workshop. The major disappointments were that the hotels restaurant closed early ( 9pm?) and nearby restaurants closed at 9, or 10 pm which I am not accustomed to. The other disappointment was the buffet breakfast with limited things of my preference to eat. Definitely an average place to stay if you only have one night to spend.

This was my second stay and I stayed for 5 nights room 5004. This was ONE of the best stays in Suva. The hotel has a great view and rooms are clean and well maintain staff are simply outstanding and Food for lunch and dinner was outstanding. Breakfast eggs cooked to perfection and variety available and breakfast inclusive to your stay. Free car park and so easy you have access to gate and you an come and go as you like. Staff are always willing to open the gate for you. I have found my stay in Suva and will always stay here as the place is so relaxing and nice with food and drinks available onsite and new sitting areas with BBQ dinner available while you dip in the pool. Room – well kept clean and if you can’t locate anything you can call reception, they will action your request asap. Housekeeping is doing a great job with keeping the room clean. Bed - great sleep each night with clean comfortable bed and pillow. AC – works well and keeps you at the right temperature. TV is not connected but its not an issue as you can read, take walks and rest so it does not matter. I highly recommend that you eat lunch or dinner and food cooked to your liking by chef who is great and makes sure your food is cooked to perfection. All staff kind, caring and always willing to assist you in your concerns and are very approachable. Bathroom - shower pressure is great with constant hot water and clean and well kept. That staff was very accomodating. We were able to keep our bags there on checkout while we visited around town. I have never heard of another motel letting me do that. Top notch service.
