The aim of our return to Swanage was to visit the Xmas market, however due to the storms the event was cancelled on the morning of the event! Regardless we were able to enjoy all that Swanage has to offer with plenty of great coffee shops and restaurants and gifts shops in the town.Appreciated the welcome touches provided at the apartment with chocolates, a Xmas wreath on the door and Xmas tree in the lounge. The positives are the fantastic location to the pier area and proximity to a good, reasonable cost car park so no need to fight for street parking with the other tourists. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable and there is good space for 4 adults. What let the property down was the cleanliness of the kitchen. I appreciate that the units and drawers are not the easiest to keep looking spotless for an arrival, but we arrived to washing up left drying on the draining board, and old bits of soggy food around the sink. In the drawers cutlery was gritty and needed washing before use and glasses and cups had lipstick marks and were sticky. Items in drawers and cupboards were not well organised and appeared to have just been thrown in. All this was disappointing as really should have been managed between users on a weekend rental.The other piece was that on arrival the property was freezing cold and took over a day to warm up to a more comfortable temperature. As this was controlled by HIVE for a booking the heating could have been switched on prior to arrival.
Stayed 2 nights in Dec 2024
