The hotel’s public rooms maintain a faded charm of times long gone, but the bedrooms and bathrooms are modern, well equipped and functional. The setting overlooking the coast could not be bettered - and enjoying it whilst tucking into an excellent buffet breakfast was great. We will definitely return.

Location and look of hotel were super. Dinner was excellent on each night of my stay, staff friendly and helpful, bed linen and towels spotless. However, the room and bathroom felt a little uncared for. I had to make my bed each day and neither the room or bathroom were cleaned during my 3 night stay, ditto china cups for tea/coffee. I only expect to do these things if self catering in all honesty. It was fine for a short stay but the hotel was very large and the emphasis is very much on being dog and family friendly so I don't think I'd go back for those reasons.

From the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent. The lovely dinners made the stay special. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The only negative was that the WiFi in our room was not good and kept dropping off.

Nice character and quirky but very tired property. Room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a trip back in time and whilst functional, it needs replacing. Had a good stay. However i found the bed to be very hard and the property to be very dated. Everything was very clean, but the 1st impression wasn't what i had hoped for. The location is wonderful, a great beach within a few minutes walk. Staff were all lovely. However for me it is time to renevate, starting with the rooms and their furniture. I did not try the extended facilities such as the spa, so can't comment.

Overall, the experience was very good. The room was perfect for our needs and with a great sea view. Most of the services and the quality of food was very good - along with the ease of parking and the Hotel's excellent location. My only criticism would be that there was no bottled water supplied in the room - nor any real choice of tea. On the services side, only a two-course dinner was available in the evening from the kitchen and no light snacks or room service were possible. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

We love coming to the knoll house, it is clean and quirky and has a lot of history attached to it. The food is lovely. It’s very dog friendly beautiful Studland beach is across the road. It has a small pool and Swanage is five minutes drive down the road. It’s a very relaxing place to be.
