Come in from a day of sandy adventures and step into the welcoming warmth of this historic cottage, where time seems to slow down. Kick off your shoes, pop the kettle on in the compact kitchen, and sink into the soft sofas beneath exposed beams and beside the lovely, ornamental fireplace. Whip up hearty portions of Welsh rarebit with many appliances and serve around the table for four. A few steps lead to the twin bedroom at bedtime, a snug little space with a porthole-style window perfect for daydreaming. Cottage-style stairs take you to the elegant bathroom, where a corner bath invites a long soak after salty air and shoreline walks. At the top of the house is the double bedroom, where muted tones, a traditional-style bed, and views stretching out across the rooftops to Swansea Bay provide cosy comfort. In the morning, serve up a delightful buffet breakfast in the steeped cottage garden and enjoy the first sips of coffee.
Right in the heart of Mumbles, you're steps from the seafront for lazy afternoons on the sand, rock pooling and ice cream strolls along the promenade. Explore nearby Langland and Caswell Bay (2 miles) for paddling and picnics, or take the coastal path out to Bracelet Bay (1.5 miles) to admire its lighthouse views. You're only 5 miles from the vast city of Swansea. This must-see is top-notch for shopping enthusiasts and foodies alike and even has a popular market to peruse. Alternatively, stop by more independent-style pubs and bars in Newton Road (1 mile).
