"Nice welcome from reception and help with bags. Room very comfortable and clean but a bit stuffy due to exceptionally warm weather and no AC in room which can’t be helped but had brought our own cooling fan in addition to the one provided by the hotel. No bar service outside so had to get own drinks from outside bar or in the Muddy Boot pub inside. Drinks prices are a bit on the steep side but a great choice of wines beers and cocktails. Staff mostly friendly but I wouldn’t say they were above and beyond in terms of the service. We ate in the brasserie both night and enjoyed what we had but highlight was the excellent breakfast. Location is fantastic being right on the banks of Lake Windermere and next to the ferry pier which takes you to Bowness although this ends around 6pm so there’s not much choice of alternative places to eat in the immediate area unless you want to drive out. Overall an enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend."

The Belsfield Hotel

"Generally The Belsfield was excellent. There are only two items which were sightly disappointing. The wifi connection dropped out everyday and really struggled to re-connect unitl hours later. The in room safe was locked upon arrival and was never unlocked throughout our stay despit eit being reported."

Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa

"The room was clean as always, stayed here a few times now. This time in the main hotel as we had our dog with us so had a pet friendly room and it was lovely. My only issues around the hotel are the lack of air con in the room and in the W restaurant. I realise this current weather isn’t the norm, but a fan isn’t the greatest. The staff are always fab, and otherwise it was a nice stay. Room was spacious which helped when having our pet Will possibly stay again in future"

Thurnham Hall Resort

"The apartment was spacious and overall clean. Excellent sleeping mattress - we are buying one for us for home. Only the balcony was messy. Hotel on beautiful grounds and staff in the restaurant and spa were very friendly and helpful. Location is great, very close to Lancaster city, easy access by Uber. Definitely would come back."

Ambleside Salutation Hotel & Spa

8/10 Good

"Great location for Ambleside and the lakes. Only minor points were car park was pretty tight and only 2 spaces that EVs could use of which one had a reserved car for a disabled driver (although next door sauce was marked for such cars). Lack of air con made room quite warm on what was a very hot weekend, however rooms were well appointed and spacious. Spa and gym were excellent and worth a visit, very clean too. Food for breakfast could not be faulted and nice to have a varied choice of fish too. Overall, highly recommended and good vfm too."
