Great hotel with superb people

Really nice hotel. The people working there are superb. I cannot fault anyone that I interacted with. It’s such a shame that this hotel is due to close in February. Definitely visit before it does.

Alexandra Is Great .

Everything was clean and tidy, swimming pool and spa,sauna and steam rooms amazing .Great breakfast and the most quietist place have ever stayed at night time .The staff are wonderful and easy to talk to any problems I am sure would soon be sorted.It is a conference centre so a bit different from a normal hotel , not a place one would normally stay but was great .

Very good value for money, nice swimming pool and changing rooms. Room was well equipped. Didn't have breakfast or any other meals so cant comment on food. My room was a very long walk from reception so be sure to ask if mobility is an issue for you.

Disappointing, dirty and unpleasant

Very disappointing stay… The room was very dirty and dusty. Stains on the walls and carpet and although do not disturb sign placed on door, the hotel staff went into the room and tidied up There was loud music and door banging every night and one night people shouting foul language for a long period of time. On check out this was mentioned to 2 hotel staff.

Less than helpful reception night staff. Awful quality mattresses and lacking in some of the basic facilities I would expect at a conference centre such as room service or a way to get a snack if arriving late

Ok for a short stay.

About 6 years ago I used to regularly stay here for work over 2 years. Not a lot has changed in terms of decor in bedrooms - the rooms are looking a bit tired. At least the TVs have been upgraded. WiFi is patchy still and forget a mobile signal in the room. Breakfast was the usual affair, staff not attentive in terms of replenishing the buffet. Bar is rarely attended and often only one bar staff on with lots of people waiting to be served. I would say the hotel is 3 star + not 4 star. They do have electric vehicle charge points so they have got something right.

Alexander Hotel is set in a vast land, that enable guests to go for long walk, within the compound. The Hotel interior is quite beautiful and modern, and the and ambience. It caters to all type of guests with different amenities. During our stay, there was Art and Craft activities, and various items to purchase. The spicy dinner platter and Burger meal we had was tasty, (the chicken wings needs more seasoning). The tortilla was also very nice and crunchy. There were lots of activities to keep one busy, within the Hotel - the Gym, swimming pool and sauna were all good and clean. Breakfast was excellent. I truly enjoyed the waffle, Cumberland sausage and baked bean. The staff were helpful, pleasant and with a smile, ready to assist. Well done guys!

Having booked thìs property several times over the past 3 years for business and social trips, I have never been charged to take my dog who is small and well behaved. I arrived to the hotel and the booking was confirmed then an additional charge of £25 was required for the dog, it had never been before. For this reason alone I've awarded four stars only. It should be clearer when booking initially.
