Very Good

Very comfy bed, great pub drinks, nice real ales and cider and atmosphere, room was comfy and warm enough and pub was really local for what I needed. Manager really friendly and accommodating and biscuits in the room a welcome too. Definitely stay there again soon
Late check in with an unplanned over night stop, duty manager very accommodating, comfortable hotel, missed breakfast so had to pay again for it - only luke warm, would stay again but would challenge the quality of breakfast.
Great customer service, my bedroom was clean but the door into the bedroom needs changing as there was quite a big gap underneath. There was a constant noise coming from the large extractor fan outside which made it harder to fall asleep on the first night.

The shower is absolutely shocking, no water pressure at all.
Very quaint and unique property with good accomodation and excellent service, we stay here every year near christmas time and would highly recommend it to others
It's a really nice pub with a good atmosphere as I arrived on Sat night. The noise from the pub did not travel thru to my room either. Clean white cotton sheets and bath towels, decent tv, lovely powerful shower. The tea and coffee were good quality (Twinnings). The staff were super polite and helpful

Friendly staff. Rooms ok for the price and clean. Decoration a bit tired but ok.
Perfectly acceptable although its location is not ideal for weekend travellers who are light sleepers as the night life in nearby Wood Street is very lively. We knew the area so we were aware of the risks. A more generous breakfast selection would have been appreciated, such as including yogurt and fruit salad, but the filter coffee was good.
Can't praise this place and staff enough. Booked 2 rooms for family. Sammy and Staff were welcoming and friendly, just what we needed after a 4 hour car journey. Rooms were clean and tidy and suited us fine. Booked evening meals for the 4 of us, great choice and Boy was it good, fresh hot and 1st class service.
Breakfast was equally as good.
Will definitely be booking in again very soon.
Big thanks to all the Staff

Noisy
Stayed 3 nights and was very disappointed. Had to move the first night because it was too noisy at the front with the traffic and on the second and third nights I had to speak to couple in the room next door several times because they were having a domestic. Seems to be people staying there who are waiting for council accommodation. Will not stay again.
Limited parking if you arrive during meal times. Lovely comfy room. Plenty of heating in room. A towel rail in the bathroom is always a nice touch! I think the only let down of my stay was breakfast. It was always very cold in the restaurant. On some days the breakfast buffet was well stocked and well displayed. On other days it was empty - having to ask for cutlery, bread, coffee and so on and made to feel like an inconvenience. The wifi was very intermittent which is never good when you have work to do. I would stay again as it was good value and a good location with some nice restaurants and bars in walking distance.
I had to run from the room. toilet was broken. stinky room. I could hear the next room toilet sounds. I need refund on this room. I have already moved out and currently in a different hotel.
It was difficult to get decent accommodation in Swindon with only a week’s notice but the Goddard Arms didn’t look too bad. First impression - it was busy in the pub downstairs so I had to wait to get checked in. This place did not have an option to pay online (unlike all other places I have stayed at). Room was very minimalistic and was so small that you couldn’t open the door to 90 degrees without hitting the bed. No wardrobe, only three hooks with hangers on the wall. Very squeaky floors, single glazed windows and the shower leaked on the bathroom floor no matter how you position the shower head. While attempted to work at the desk, mere feet from the cars and lorries thundering past on main road below, I left to find the nearest Boots to buy ear plugs.
I went for breakfast only on the first of the three mornings I was there as I’d rather not eat than eat that breakfast again. I also tried the filtered coffee, but abandoned it, deciding instead to go back to my room and brew my own (I travel with coffee and filters for desperate tones like these). The staff were friendly and tried their very best and it's much appreciated, but with the essentials being so far below par they were fighting a lost cause. There was always a parking spot for my car which was a rare positive. Room has heating. Bed was ok. Overall, my experience was bad-average.
Ideal location in the middle of Old Town. Room was a little tired and could have done with an update in the bathroom. Only real gripe was the extractor fan seemed to be permanently on which made for a bit of a distraction when we finally went to bed.
The bar was lively and a great place to start and end the evening.

The room was clean, the bed was comfy, the food was good and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The only complaint we have was that there was a constant noise we could hear in our room that made it hard for us to get to sleep. We think it was an industrial extractor fan of some sort.
