"I had booked to stay two nights but let after 1. Even though the signs show no smoking, I could smell a combination of food and smoke smells permeating through the building and in my room. I went to see the staff about it as my eyes were being affected by it. They saw my eyes, they tried their best but couldn't help me. My room was right on the main street, with no sound proofing and the noise was unbearable. Needless to say, I could not sleep at all, with noises of cars, motorbikes, trucks and people calling out throughout the night. My lamp wasn't working, there was thick dust on the lampshade and the pillows were just horrible. It's such a shame as with some sound proofing, a good paint job on the walls throughout the property, upgrade of beds and linen, the place would be so much better. The bathrooms luckily have been upgraded and quite clean. Perfect location, great staff but the stay was really bad. I chatted with some others staying there and they all said the same thing. "

"From the front of the building it's hard to tell what the actual place looks like but once you enter it, the courtyard is very pleasant, although a bit dated, with lounges, a fountain and goldfish swimming in the little water features. It's even nicer in the evening with the lights on. The rooms all come off this area. The room was surprisingly large. It was clean and comfortable. The only issue was the noise echoing from the doors opening and shutting all hours of the night. If there was a way of silencing these doors so they don't make a big noise when closed, this place would be so much better. Overall, a lovely stay except for those doors. "

"Really good rooms, like it that windows can be opened for fresh air. A little street noise on a Saturday evening and when freight trains pass but otherwise a very good stay with all the amenities required."
