"When we arrived, we were honestly a little surprised by how positive the reviews had been. Our first impression wasn’t amazing. We actually asked to change rooms so we could have what we had expected which was a front-facing room with a balcony, as the view looked much nicer. The staff were incredibly accommodating and arranged this for us straight away. However, we quickly discovered that Cairo never really sleeps. The noise from the street carried on throughout the night and we barely slept, so the next morning we asked to move back to our original rooms instead. But again they really didn’t mind and dealt with our request. Recommend you taking the back twin room if you need a quiet room. It’s large and has a decent bathroom. Breakfast was simple but perfectly fine. There was a selection of cheese, sliced meats, bread rolls, fruit, coffee, and juice each morning. Nothing overly fancy, but enough to start the day. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the staff. Every member of the team we dealt with was genuinely warm, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. They were welcoming from the moment we arrived, happy to help with requests, and created such a lovely atmosphere that it completely changed our overall impression of the hotel. The customer service was honestly the best part of the experience and probably the reason so many people leave such positive reviews. We felt so welcome we are definitely going back at some point. "This hotel is the perfect base to explore the Pyramids at Giza and Saqqara. We used their personalised entrance service to go directly to the pyramids without the usual entrance way which was nice - it’s not a glamorous entrance mind, but it’s very convenient. We also added the additional tour guide option which made exploring the site much more efficient as well as learning a few extra nuggets of local knowledge and historical insight. The hotel itself is tucked away from the rest of Cairo in its own compound so was surprisingly quiet. The grounds themselves are well maintained with lovely lawns and water features for the birds. The food was good, though if you’re vegan the lunch menu was poor. That being said, the tomato sauce and pasta was actually the best I’ve had pretty much anywhere so that’s a plus! The Indian restaurant on site however had amazing vegan options and we ordered too much because the portion sizes were pretty big! The room itself was clean and tidy and had everything we’d need - but the internet connection is terrible. Better to rely on your own 5G connection."

"The location of the hotel is let’s say authentic. For those wishing a more modern experience surrounding the property may not be for you. We enjoyed but we like the barking packs of dogs and all night horn honking. Again this is Cairo in this area as well as old downtown Cairo. Hang on during any taxi ride and drink it in. "

"The room was okay but it was so basic. Bathroom was neatly the size of my bedroom (just enough room for my twin sized bed, wardrobe, coat rack, and a mini fridge). The door to my time terrified me; it looked like someone had broken in and then it was hastily repaired (it never looked closed even when it was closed and locked). It took me nearly 2 days to fall asleep in that room. I was promised an upgraded room (which I asked about repeatedly) but it never happened. The bear about my stay overall was the manager. He’s an angel. I only stayed because of him since his time was next to nine. He looked out for me daily and made me feel safe. My tour guide was amazing and friendly. She even helped me shop and accompanied me for lunch and dessert. "
