Wonderful views from this hilltop hotel, but it's a long, steep walk back from the beaches! We took the hotel bus down to the beach and walked back after spending some time at the port.
It's isolated, but there's a free bus from/to Toyohashi Station.
The breakfast and dinner buffets are great, and much of the hotel has been recently renovated.
Unfortunately they have changed the afternoon times for the onsen so that women have access to their part at 3pm but men from 5pm, which we found inconvenient.
What I didn't like.
A receptionist woman was not friendly. Staffs at Buffet looked tired and they didn't smile. There was nearly no table service.
I used a humidifier in a room. Then, my room started to smell terrible.
What I liked about
Bath facilities was excellent. They added a stone sauna. The basket to carry was useful. The yukata set was convenient. Pick up service from ferry port was super helpful. The variety of buffet was impressive, but somehow, things tasted better 2 years ago. .
It's a beautiful, remote location. There's a free shuttle bus to and from Toyohashi station, and ample car parking, but no other public transport.
High on the hill, there are wonderful views, but it's a long climb. The rooms are spacious with a sea view from each one.
The buffet breakfast and dinner is extensive, though always the same. The onsen is clean with several different pools at various temperatures. We enjoyed it every day.
For us, the major negative is that they play tuneless jazz in the restaurant at every meal. They changed to classical for dinner one evening at our request, but back to jazz the next day.
There's nothing to do in the area, but that's fine if you've gone for peace and quiet. There's a very long beach with almost nobody there at this time of year, even though it was quite hot (with a cool wind, however).
