Great location; Beautiful property
The house was in an ideal location; walking distance from downtown Tahoe City. The layout is a bit quirky -- three bedrooms and one full bathroom upstairs, one bedroom and two full bathrooms downstairs -- but that's not uncommon for older resort properties. While well-kept, it is an older home. The heat wasn't working the first night we arrived, but the property management office got that taken care of promptly the next morning. Would definitely stay here again.

It's fine, but not sure the cost is justifiable
There are many things to like a bout this house! The location is phenomenal, the neighborhood is great, the lot is pretty, the lake view is great, the tub is fun, and the house is spacious. The management company was also good at communicating. That being said, we had many of the same issues that Quirky House review from June 2022 had. We arrived and there was no dishwashing detergent or laundry detergent. The house was generally clean but we found evidence of previous guests. The management company only provides one set of towels per person, but they are just bathroom towels not for the tub or the beach. I called and asked for beach or tub towels and the person on the phone said that they only provided one set per person, but that we were welcome to refresh them in the wash as often as we wish. Even if you do that, if you use the tub and then want to take a shower you will be forced to dry off with a not fresh towel. The deck is another major issue! There are boards that are no longer screwed in, I'm taking over an inch raised from level and there are many screws and nails popping out. I personally got at least four splinters, with others in my party having a similar faith. My four year old daughter split her big tow on either one of the nails or a bad board. Not an ER type gash, but still a good cut. The grill is very small for a house sleeping 11, but even worse the inside is rusty and only the back burner works properly. The stove had a faulty burner as well. There are many window screens broken that would allow insects/mosquitoes in if there were any, we lucked out with the weather :) There are also missing window screens. In summary, it seems very little work is being put into the house while still demanding top dollar. You and your family will have a wonderful time and make great memories if you decide to stay here, ours did. We just don't think the cost to amenity/quality of the house is congruent which makes it a 2/5 in my book, and a 1/5 for many others in our party.

Family reunion
Spacious house, with plenty of separate spaces for people to hang out. Great location and neighborhood, walking distance to downtown. Seems secluded even though neighbors are close. Great views of the lake from deck and upstairs bedrooms. Open plan with kitchen. Well stocked kitchen with utensils and cooking pans and baking needs. We really enjoyed the house and we'll equiped for our crowd. Would return again next time in Tahoe. Thank you!

Quirky House
I’m used to staying in vacation rentals and this was one of the weirdest. The pros were that the beds were comfortable, climate control worked great, the hot tub was excellent, and the view from the deck was lovely. The cons were important details that seemed to be overlooked or come off as stingy—no extra toilet paper (I was told to bring more when I made the booking but forgot since it was months ago), no laundry soap or dryer sheets, hard-to-find broom and no dustpan, only one towel per person (plus some of the towels were clearly old while others were brand new), and no stockpot for cooking for a group. We loved the giant dining room table that fit our family of 10, but not the stress of trying to figure out how to get everyone’s food out and hot at the same time. The house looked very clean (no dirty socks or bare feet here!) but we found evidence of past guests under our beds, in the closets, and in our shower. Many things were broken or in disrepair (dresser in closet was missing a drawer, a table leg popped off after a gentle toe stub) or showed signs of wear. Also, there was a step down in the master bedroom that we didn’t know about and that was a problem for my handicapped mother, but she was a good sport and was happy with the twin above the step. She also gave the tub an A+. Management was okay but seemed disconnected from the property. Not a bad place to stay—it felt like a family friend had let us use their lake house for the weekend—but not a place I’d stay again if I’m in the area.
