This is a pretty nice hotel but it is older so expect what you expect with that. Only complaint is they had the strongest perfume or some sort of scent in the common areas that I’ve ever smelled at a hotel, like nauseatingly so. It almost made us stay somewhere else but we decided to stay since we weren’t there much and the rooms were fine.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The breakfast was delicious and divers as well as the super. The star were the open air baths. For those like me with their head in the clouds, the bath can be accessed from the 6th floor where the onsens desk is. I loved my stay. Thank you!

I had the privilege to stay in one of the rooms with the beautiful view of mountains and the city of Takayama. The staff was very pleasant and service was amazing. I also enjoyed the experience of the hot springs and would higly recommend anyone if they would be staying in Takayama, to come to this hotel.

Spacious and comfortable with great views.

Very comfortable and spacious room with great views. Excellent breakfast buffet in a sunny big room. Shuttle bus service is prompt and good to have as hotel is on edge of town. Onsen was lovely, with great views and several different ones to try aswell as a relaxation area.

My family has stayed in this hotel 4 times over the years, and plan to stay there in the future. The Onsen is great, the food at the hotel is very nice. Shuttle service into town is on the hour. We always enjoy our time there. 😀

The property had beautiful views. The rooms were very western in style compared to rooms in Japanese cities. The breakfast was good, but a bit high priced. It was disappointing not to have a swimming pool for a resort of this size. The staff were very attentive.

Perfect onshen!

The location is a bit on the outskirts, but everything else about this place was simply perfect. The room was spacious with a beautiful view, and the highlight was definitely the outdoor onsen. Soaking in the hot spring while overlooking a picturesque village that felt like the Swiss countryside was truly a dream. I enjoyed the onsen both in the evening and in the morning, and still wished I had more time there. It was absolutely wonderful, and I would love to visit again.

Large hotel outside the city good for group travelers. Onsen on premises was excellent. Breakfast was also good. With my arrival I asked the reception to eat in a Japanese restaurant and was told only available the western restaurant with Pizza, burger etc…. I went to check the restaurants and checked the Japanese one if available and to my surprise they told me no problem I can get reservation which I did. I returned to the reception and asked why I was told otherwise. An apology was in place but I guess that’s the policy to separate the foreigners from locals so the atmosphere to be kept undisturbed by foreigners who some may have bad manners. Unfortunately it’s being repeated in many places I visited after the current flood of tourists.

The room is large. However, For this medium-high cost , i would expect to have a good onsen experience. However the onsen is quite old dark and dirty with slippery moss and dirt on many areas of the floor. Quite unsafe actually. Regular cleaning should be carried out.

The positive: Our double bed room was very large, was very quiet and had an outstanding view of the Japanese alps. The hotel facilities were clean and well maintained. The negative: Other than a very limited menu at the bar and a buffet breakfast, we were unable to eat at this hotel's restaurants. Inconveniently situated, it only offered a shuttle bus to the city center on an hourly basis. Communication in English was nearly impossible.
