"Beautiful secluded property with true luxury onsen experience. Staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful. They accommodated our large family of 11, including a few different food allergies very well. The teenagers loved the private and public hot baths. Thenonly downside was a strong mildew smell in the otherwise immaculate room. Overall, I highly recommend this resort for an authentic and high end onsen experience."

"We had a wonderful stay at Yushintei. The traditional Japanese style rooms were absolutely great, spacious, comfortable, and provided an authentic experience. A major highlight was the natural hot spring spa (onsen), which was a fantastic addition to unwind after a long day of walking. The entire hotel was exceptionally nice and clean throughout. Just keep in mind that the local shops and other eateries require a minimum 10-15 minute walk from the property."

"We loved our stay at this ryokan in Hakone - it was our favourite stay during a rent Japan trip. This was our first time staying at a ryokan in Japan. We walked from the train station to the ryokan but you must walk about a steep hill with luggage, so yiu need to be fit. I would suggesting calling and tsking advantage of the free shuttle offered by the property. We used the shuttle to go back to the train station. We stayed two nights which was great. The service was amazing - everyone was so kind and professional. We had our breakfaat and dinner included which was wonderful. The meals were amazing! They did a great job accommodating dietary allergies in our group. The meals were a highlight of our trip. We loved trying all the different Japanese foods. Even the picky eaters in our group found enough to fill them up. We wore the traditional Japanese clothing found in our room to dinner, as did most of the other hotel guestd. We had a choice of dinner times and then enjoyed the onsen after dinner. There were 3 times to chose from for breakfast 7:30 am, 8 am or 8:30 am. We loved the choice. The bathrooms in the rooms are dated but we never used the bathrooms because we always used the hotel onsens. We had a room without a private onsen and did not feel like we were missing out on anything. There is rooftop onsens that can be booked but we found the temperature of these too hot. Overall, an amazing stay. I would definitely return again!"

"Location is a little far from the Hakone Yumoto station and the town. Facility is out dated and needs some repair, staff is very helpful and friendly. Onsen is excellent and a great experience. The highlight of the stay was the Japanese buffet breakfast and dinner. It was very very good and great experience and well worth the trip. Don’t book the western style room that has two twin beds. The mattress is sinking and very uncomfortable. Both my wife and my daughter hurt their back from sleeping only one night in this bed. However tatami beds are very comfortable and a great experience. So overall the stay was above average because of the bed, location and facility. I really love the stuff and the buffet ."

"We upgraded to the room with the private onsen - it was awesome and very relaxing! The room is great. Would definitely recommend to book the private onsen. The other onsen are separated by gender. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. It was a nice getaway after some busy days in Tokyo!"
