"We had an absolute blast over Memorial Day weekend! The house was the perfect getaway — peaceful, relaxing, and full of little adventures. The pier was a highlight for us. We caught 3 stingrays, 2 eels, fish, crab, and even oysters — such a fun variety that kept us on our toes!It was also such a treat to bring our dogs along and include our fur family in the fun. We enjoyed dinner every night in the screened-in patio and sipped coffee each morning on the upstairs deck — just the kind of relaxing time we needed.Conveniently located too — Walmart was only about 20 minutes away for anything we needed. We’ll definitely be back again!Great host- endured we were taken care of! "

"Table was not clean and we saw one roach. And one of the beds was useless as it couldn’t hold even a person that weighed 100 pounds it just sunk to center.But it was quiet and cute and served our purpose. And it was just a nice get away."

"This cottage was absolutely perfect for our stay. It is in a quiet neighborhood very close to the downtown area. It was so clean and neat. Decorated very tastefully. It was a comfortable, happy cottage. We will definitely be back."

"Great place to get away. we were kayaking, bird watching and house is centrally located. the house is perfect--stocked, great kitchen and porch, quiet and private. kayaking in the bay is nice as well as many nearby launches. great hosts. definitely will visit again."

"My sister and our spouses and children got away from DC for a long weekend. This place is a piece of paradise. We had six people in our group which is the right size for this house. We were outside almost the entire time, trying to fish/crab off the dock, sitting at the firepit, or going for a row in the numerous kayaks, canoe or paddle boat. Very peaceful neighborhood and we appreciated being able to bring our dog. Would highly recommended. Did not have any issues with the house and good communication with the owners. Well stocked kitchen. Full size W/D. Would love to see a hot tub for future visits. "

"Smith Island was on our bucket list of visits, and for spring break we finally went. Castaway Cottage is great!!!! It is the perfect place to stay, and Smith Island is a great way to get away from work and school and the buzz of life on the mainland, which was our whole point of the trip. We totally recommend this house, it is adorable, it has everything you need, and we took our dog and it is SOOOO pet friendly! Oh my gosh, we didn't want to leave! We are absolutely planning a summer trip and staying at Castaway Cottage. Book Island Belle ferry, the Captain is the best and he is FAST, he gets you there and back way faster than the other ferry and he is awesome! Totally recommend! "
