"This is a true gem. The owners were wonderful. They called to check on me and even surprised me with dinner a couple nights (which was amazing). The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked well. I will surely stay there again. The WiFi signal was the best I have ever experienced in The Gambia. I highly recommend it. Location is great and is few minutes walk to the beach in Bijilo and walking distance to restaurants, supermarket and public transportation. It is also short drive to Senegambia. Fatou and her team were very friendly and helpful. This is a great value for the money."

Great place let down by racial profiling incident

"This was my second time staying at the Kololi Beach Resort, and the hotel itself is great—great location, nice rooms, and excellent front-of-house staff. However, my stay was ruined by an overzealous security guard who was probably only doing what he had been taught to do - keep Black women out, who they assume all must be "ladies of the night." was stopped by a security guard who did not approach me with any kind of courtesy and demanded to know what I was doing at the hotel and whether I was staying there. "
